Having problems playing the game? Check here!
Game won't launch
Updating your video drives has resolved this for most users.
-Locate your .exe file, right click and bring up the properties menu, go to compatilibity and tick the box "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".

-Uncheck Enable Steam Community In-Game (Within Steam click Games>View Libray>Right-Click Darkout>Properties)
-Making sure you aren't running the game in Windows XP compatability mode
-Running the game directly from the game file in your SteamApps folder

In-Game Texture Problems

-Un-check Visual Themes within the Darkout game itself. (For those still experiencing issues PLEASE let us know)
-Deleting the game's Cache folder (Very temporary fix)

Sorry you are having troubles running the game Devs. It's hard to understand why a majority of users can run the game, but not yourself. There can be so many scenarios that can cause software to not operate the same way on different configurations of hardware and software. We will continue to try and understand the problems and make the game available to you. Do you have any reasons to believe something specific is causing your problem? Any information to provide that could help us?

Got the game started, created a world, but do not get the chest and cannot salvage the ship.

Try running the game from the file in steamapps, that worked for me

Man this is truly frustrating. Please don't misunderstand, but this is kinda bs that we not only have to update to the latest drivers, but that we are being asked to download a third part app in order to trouble shoot the problem with the game. I say problem with the game, because I have only just updated my drivers about 2 months ago, in fact I have the latest stable so I am not downloading the beta hopefully that will fix this. And if this doesn't work and I have to download this third party app I am going to be annoyed as hell, more than I already am... Especially if I just went through the past hour of updating my drivers for no reason, especially if I need to revert back due to beta unstability. I mean, I get its not your fault, but hey its not my fault either, and the way I see it I paid money for this game, and there is no way for me to get it back. I didn't agree to go through all of this, but unless I do I am what? Out of luck? Oh well, too bad so sad? Anyways, my point here is that this is kind of a bit absurd we have to go through this just in order to simply launch the game... Again, not even the latest tripple a games required this much troubleshooting and frustrations... /endrant.

No Robotica, it's not the end of the road. If you instead just work with us to try and get past the problems we are here to try and help. We wont stop until everyone who wants to play is in the game and enjoying it.

You are right, noone likes to get a game and have it not work. We understand this of course! We did not plan for you to have problems. In fact most people are alright and playing. Some users have had some OpenGL issues.

It is NOT out of the ordinary for technical support to request more information from you when you are experiencing technical problems. If you worked in the IT industry this would be second nature to you. Lots of game devs ask for DXDIAG logs and things of of the like, in order to try and understand the problems some users have when they launch a game.

We are working constantly everyday, most of us are not sleeping very much at best 2 hours a night, and we are all trying our best to make sure every technical problem is handled. But you can't just come in and start throwing things, you need to be able to at least understand how difficult this kind of challenge can be for us!

We want you to be happy! And we are working to that end, as long as you stick it out with us.

Updating my drivers didn't work, what a suprise. Anyways, after trying a couple other solutions here I gave up on trying to fix it myself, downloaded that program, saved the report and just emailed it to the one you posted in the thread. However, you also mentioned attaching a console.log, but the directory you give for the file does not exist on my computer. I don't see a folder for darkout under my games or my documents. The folder under steamapps does not have a console file.

even after the patch I keep having the same problem display change failure

Got some problems, I get black boxes for a large majority of objects and the characters do not have textures. I have tried creating a new char and world but the same thing happens. Strangely it worked fine the first time.

Using a Radeon 290 with 8G Ram on Win7-64b

The next Steam patch should help address the issues you're having with textures. Have you already checked to see if you have the most up to date video card drivers?

Often when I click and hold to move item an into the actionbar thet item get dropped on the ground.
