Playing on Windows XP?

is anyone playing on windows XP? I tried just running it and it came up with an error on first run, before the game came up, saying that my version of windows does not run Direct X 3D. is there a solution?

I think you need Vista. The store page says the specs are:

OS: Windows Vista Service Pack 2

Aw man, I wish I would have seen this thread before I bought the game today.
I loved this game on PS3, really wanted to play it again.

I guess I could borrow my brother's PC if I really wanted to play that badly lol

Either bite the bullet and upgrade to 7 (not 8!) because XP will be as good as dead in 3 months, or install some Linux if you don't want to spend a dime (other than the base cost of the game).

Mine runs just fine under Debian Testing on some cheap i5 laptop, but be aware that the system requirements are somewhat high. I've yet to see a Core i-Series running XP :P

Nah, I'm not upgrading to 7 on this PC cause I'm not wasting another $200+ on it. I'll have to wait until I can get together enough cash to build a completely new rig.

I didn't think to look at the system requirements for Shooter because I came from the PixelJunk Monsters page to the Shooter/Monsters bundle and Monsters required only XP -_-

Hi,

The minimum requirements for Monsters and Shooter are indeed different and Vista is a must for Shooter.

I guess the only thing to suggest is to upgrade your current machine or as Kami Amaya suggested, borrow someone elses. Note that we do not condone borrowing without permission, however :)
