AI issues with mods (Diehard mod especially)
Has anyone else had a problem with the AI basically going "dead" in connection with the Diehard mod for S2? What I mean is that it will basically just stand where it is at the beginning of a scenario and shoot anything that comes in range but that's it. It won't actively chase towards gunfire/noise like normal. I've come across some old posts from 2005 or so talking about this, I just want to see if there is a way around this and what mods exactly are causing the problem. I want to start a no-PK run from scratch but not if AI issues spring up later on (it seemed a bit on-again off-again from my very limited experience with the bug)

So basically ya, I want a no-PK + diehard run if possible, but I'll settle for just no-PK if I have to. I had the bug a couple years ago when I was playing and just gave up in frustration (I had no idea at the time that it was an issue that others have had). I had several mods going on at the time and I'm not sure which one was causing the issue. (I'm fairly sure I was not using "large icon" mod described in the thread)

If anyone could help me out and just test the opening mission of either campaign I'd appreciate it: When you start shooting at one enemy and stay out of view of the others, do the rest come at you or not? I honestly can't even remember anymore what the AI behavior is supposed to be when mod free.

I know that there are some units that are scripted to stay in one spot, typically guards outside of buildings and doorways. These people will not move no matter what happens, modded or otherwise. This should only happen with specific people though. Otherwise it depends, sometimes the AI works at a squad level where if one sees you they all have, and sometimes if you only take out the one guy who saw you -silently- other units might come investigate but you can continue to be sneaky. I'm playing Diehard 1.52 myself, and the AI's been basically the same as vanilla if not marginally brighter. Maybe you're playing an outdated version?

What's the latest version?

I first noticed the problem in the allied campaign during the mission where you start off surrounded by allied soldiers who think you're enemy agents. Manor house or something I believe it's called? Anyways, after I cleared out the room none of the other enemies on the map moved or anything. They were just static until I came into contact with them. IIRC normally everyone is supposed to converge on the room you're in and attack you.
