Ok, updated back of the envelope for Greg + Scarce. Updated 2/13/07 with precise calculations based on actual machine utlization. My previous numbers incorrectly assumed machines would have a much higher utilization level than they really do. Interesting.

Geothermal Math
Filters will run flat out forever.
6 filters @ 100% = 15 * 6 = 90 pps

Compressors only take their pps requirements for 5 seconds, and it takes 46.4 seconds to gather enough gas.
1 compressor @ 11%, 1 compressor @ 5.5% = 84.48 pps

Boosted geothermal power output: 2734.0005 pps (assumed, haven't seen the updated code)
Power required to maintain: 174.48 pps

Net benefit: 2559.5 pps (~14 turbines)

Aside from the ludicrous entry cost, I see no reason now to invest those bars as soon as you possibly can.

Turbine Math
Just in case anyone was interested in how it stacks up on Turbines.

Cost per Fuel: 500

- 8 biomass per fuel
- 1 fuel per 30 seconds
- 2000 ore lasts 250 fuel

Costs:

- Power to refine 250 fuel = 125,000
- Power to mine 2000 ore = 15.97 * 60 = 958.2 (antimatter + plasma head)
- Power to produce plasma head = 50,400
- Power to move 2000 ore from -700 to surface = 11,200 (improved lift * 2 trips)

Production:
- Power from 250 fuel = 5468.7 * 250 = 1,367,175

In Summary:
- Power produced per 250 fuel (just over 2 hours burn time): 1,367,175 power
- Cost to maintain: 187,558.2 power (26.05 pps)
- Net Power Gain: 1,179,616.8 power (163.84 pps)

Not Included:
- Cost of mining Nickel & Iron (negligable)
- Cost of steel bar crafting (negligable)

Summary
Turbines cost ~ 13.7% of their power output to maintain
Geothermals (now) cost ~ 6.4% of their power output to maintain

The animation on Mk1 (and possibly Mk2) workfloor excavators currently isn't right; only the bottom cube rotates. I haven't re-checked in 16a but I didn't see a mention in the notes.

I have a minor suggestion for P17:

Remove the isReinforced attribute from the Celtic Pillar block and put it on Grooved Cement instead.

Celtic Pillar costs 1 paste and Grooved Cement is 8; seems more appropriate.

@ Innominate: Well they are all new in 16 for me compared with previous mainstream releases. The persistant stalactites have to be new! I agree that they are minor but if they are easy enough to kill off ...

I feel like if you can get away with it in Command and Conquer (not to mention so many other more modern games), I think you can get away with it there. I know there's a big difference between a war-style game and a "skin", but it doesn't many anything IMO.

The BFL-9000 seems to be causing a few weird drops - when it blasts away organic detritus (or something else on the surface) TNT blocks drop. Also when it blasts multi block items such as the glow tubes, mk4 batteries it'll drop a glow tube or a mk4 battery (as well as the mk4 battery component) These full piece blocks will only place as a transparent block though

In rush mode (not sure about other modes) the solar collector doesn't seem display the right charge on its display as it cycles between 78.8 / 5 / 0 pps on a battery with plenty of spare capacity (doesn't seem to happen with mk2 or organic solar collectors).
I've also had it a few times where the solar collector is claiming not to be able to see the sun when there is nothing currently above it (but there were blocks above it before I cleared them prior to placing the collectors) It was able to find the sun after logging out and back in again though.

The CCCP flag is world-famous, renowned, and looks awesome. The Russian Federation flag looks crap. The Confederate flag has been adopted by white-supremacists, but this is well known. I've no idea if the CCCP flag carries any negative connotations at all - hence asking.

So-so. Some miss that time, some not, some hated it. Really depends on how old the russian is. I was born right after the collapse of the USSR and things weren't that great that time, but i only lived there for 6 years, so.
Every flag has it's history, good and bad.
Maybe not AS sensitive as certain other flags from WW2, but it sure has it's share of history some might get offended to.

I wonder tho what about the flag of the rising sun? From an aesthetical point it looks quite cool, too.

Does that mean that MK3 Trencher now isn't 100% efficient like Plasma Cutters Heads are? Or its misunderstanding and Trencher in this case is not a drill head but motor?

Trencher is a Ore Extractor. It's the T4 ore miner :)
