Hey folks, we will be continually adding new default blocks for you to use in crafting your world, I was hoping that with some time in the game under your belts, the community could start giving some good feedback on new block textures or ideas you would like to see in upcoming patch releases?

Are mechanical blocks coming in? If so them. Also cameras and tvs so when multiplayer comes on we can spy on what people are doing. I think i mentioned this to arcas before tho

Can we have some with damage on them, dirty, grungy style for different types. Sci fi, dungeon, modern etc.

This way we can have older style civilisations under ground etc.

How about overlays?

Not blocks, but textures you can put on top of existing blocks - dirt, scratches, sparkles, patterns, tiles, ivy vines, or whatever else.

I would also love glowing blocks. Not necessarily those that emit light, but simply those that appear to glow in the dark.

stained glas blocks, and textures that are usefull for customs as well as normals, like a row of wine bottles for bar shelves, a bit like the bookcase but different items

One thing though
when putting textures on the blocks can you make sure they are alligned perfectly.
Eg. the window and celtic designs are perfect but if you split em into detailed blcks they are not alligned to dead centre so the pattern is slightly off
If this was dead centre you could create strips of patterns with any block you have

Im not sure why they wouldn't b aligned dead center - can you send me a screenshot of what you mean?

Todd - quite a few of the blocks are misaligned. You can see this easily by using a Unified block on, say, reinforced wood. It wasn't noticable on the Xbox, of course - 1080p+ has a lot to answer for!

Vanilla, world generation options are in the works, you eventually will be able to customize how your initial world is built.

Having water would be nice. There's a fluids filter tab so it's already planned, I guess?
I second the glowing/neon blocks and having ivies and stuff as overlays would be cool, too.

I'd like some street blocks/asphalt block with stripes on it.
And then maybe some unusual fantasy blocks like ginger bread, candy blocks, micro chip blocks, TRON-like neon blocks, so you can build candy/computer/virtual reality worlds.

Oops. Nothing wrong with them, I just failed to see them before I made my post (although it would be neat if the paintgun only changed the color of the neon parts instead of the whole block).

I think that may be possible at some point, to have designated sections paintable only, or with some sort of hueshift. I wonder if maybe a set of these types of blocks could be turned into lights and then edited in that way...

Various eyeballs; brass and Cu blocks; more like the celtic ones with vertical stripes and patterns, but with horizontal stripes and patterns; various furry blocks...dog, Holstein, giraffe, zebra...; ruled paper; a circuit board - the new blue circuit is awesome, but i mean a green board with solder etc; a paintable block that would do for carpet/rugs, a bit rough, though the marble works; cabinet doors; diamondplate. I could go on forever. Diamondplate and furry would be amazing, though. PS: paintable when possible.
