Random feedback
Just got it this weekend, played for about 5 hours. 1st game made it to the Med Deck, but learned a lot. 2nd game is proceeding better, have cleared all decks except Command (but only have 1 marine and 1 survivor currently, so it probably won't last much longer). Still playing on Easy though, as I learn the game.

Playing on Mac OS 10.7, only bug I really noticed was overlapping text when I hit the alien merchant. And I'm not sure it's a bug, but more than once, there was no way to get to the next room without breaking a wall (in other words, unconnected rooms were being generated).

I'm still learning various things about the game, but it would be nice from a UI standpoint if the promotion button highlighted or something when you selected a marine that has ranked up. I kept clicking on it only to find that I hadn't earned a level yet. I was losing the "ranked up" message in the text, maybe that sentence could be a different color or something?

And it would be nice if you could get a free facing change after movement (or riding the elevator). Simple binary, if you move, the next facing change is free, any other action (including a facing change) makes the facing change cost 1. Or, only a facing change makes the next facing change cost 1 AP. Since you can't shoot on a diagonal, this would help.

I'm sure I'll have more questions and probably more feedback as I play more. Interesting game so far, I look forward to your updates!

I think I agree with your sentiment so far - I've only played a few minutes, literally, but having facing always take an AP seems a bit harsh, especially, again, as you can't shoot on a diagonal.

EDIT: Also, I'm not sure if it's possible or not, but it's a bit annoying to have the camera focus on enemies in the dark. It kind of hurts both active gameplay, since I have to wait for all of the enemies to finish their turns, but also hurts the passive gameplay, since fog of war doesn't really matter since the camera focuses on their positions.

Maybe the game could only really update enemies turn-for-turn if they're in a sight line or not actively targeting your character. Otherwise, it could just expend each of their turns and teleport them to their new location all at once.

There's a game option that lets you turn units for free in the settings menu.

Like KittyKat mentioned the facing costing AP is a game option :)

A marine should get a promotion animation for a second or two when he/she gathers enough experience to rank up. But yes, when beta comes I'll be fully engaged in a UI/UX overhaul.

The levels are not generated with a guaranteed path to the elevator from the marine start point. But you can always find it if you smash enough walls!
