Rewarding
I am quite unfamilliar with these kind of NES style of games, I completed the game in 2:34:something and died a 140 times. But I freaking enjoyed it, I think I died about a hundred times in the lvl before the last boss fight. And died a million times in the final pre boss fight, before I figured out what the best way was to deal with it.

In my opinion the difficulty is challenging enough and above all its fair. 98% of the time I died was due my own fault. It's not the difficulty that you think :"wauw seriously? This is just freaking lame". Its not the the frustrating difficulty that some games have.

I also had to figure out alot of things like whats the best way to jump and how to deal with certain elements. Like I said I am unfamilliar with these kind of games. But once I got trough its so rewarding.

Great game, cant wait for the following chapters.

Cheers

Yeah I agree the difficulty in this game is spot on. I also like that death only resets you to the last "area" or "screen" you were on instead of something silly. I also like that health is thoughtfully hidden in appropriate locations so you never have to run around with one hit point forever.

I died 3 times during my first run and didn't die at all during the second one. TBDX is a fantastic homage to NES era games but far from hard if you're familiar with them ;)
