Tiny Barbarian DX
Blood Mode
First off, I need to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this game and consider it not only a very fun and great-looking platformer that makes great use of pixel art's strengths, but also a very clever tribute to Conan and the other pulp barbarian heroes of old, from the obvious homage of the vulture scene to the cute moment in the women's bath all the way to the evil wizard summoning an abomination. This is quite the game, and I can't wait to see what crazy adventures the next episodes have in store.

Having said that, what stood out to me as I played it was that the game was very bloodless. There's a bit of red on the spikes in the dungeon levels, and I think that's all. I'm not the kind of person who needs a game to be violent and gory to enjoy it, I love certain Mario titles dearly for example, but I think, considering the things this game pays homage to, the setting, and the pulpy fun, the lack of blood definitely took something away from it. I don't know if this was a ratings-related choice or simply an artistic decision, but I would like to urge the developers to strongly consider adding the option to turn on blood spray when enemies are hit and killed.

I'm certain the artist could make some very fun looking gushes of blood. I don't want this game to turn into Mortal Kombat or anything, I just feel that great gushes of blood from slain foes would go hand in hand with the feel of the game as a whole. I'd even be willing to purchase DLC that does nothing BUT add blood mode (at a reasonable price of course). I have at least one friend (who recommended the game to me) that feels the same way. In the same vein, slightly slashier or meatier sound effects when hitting enemies would also be welcome, as the current ones sound a bit more like blunt hits, contributing to the feel that something is missing from the hack and slash action in the game.

Thank you for your time.

Hey Abe, sorry for the super late reply!

Blood's definitely a thing I've thought about and I might come up with something at some point. Some people have expressed a preference for the blood-free quality as well. If we add blood at some point you won't have to pay for it, though. :)

Thanks for the feedback!
I would also like that option. Probably not as the default mode, as the game goes for the cute style (look at that adorable green snake).
Isn't the game made by one person, aside from music which is made by another, awesome, guy?
I don't think adding a few pixles of blood would add much to the game, it wouldn't be very noticeable anyway. I think that kind of stuff looks better with pixel games where they have glow effects and stuff to make the special effects stand out.

But sure, if blood is easy to add then let's do this thang lol
