Bosses have been designed...look in the artwork section, I lined up all the colossal bosses (elemental bosses). We do plan on having many more bosses of different variants. thanks for the suggestion :)

Couldn't AG work on easy to use (as easy as player and item) creation system for mobs/bosses? Then we could crowdsource mob creation with some guidelines so art would be consistent. It would be more fun that way and we'd get more mobs in shorter amount of time.

Every model will be accessible in game as are the current models. We don't plan on holding out on any designs. Everything I make will be available to edit in game. Does that answer the question?

I don;t want to edit, I want to make custom mobs.

THEN MAKE A MOD

With what? I need TOOLS, damnit. And preferably in-game ones so I can test it while I'm making it.

Darkhog, there is some data for that a little higher up in this thread. As well as some others.

Readers Digest Version: You should be able to add your own models soon. Not "next update soon" but soon.

It involves this software: http://minddesk.com/ specifically: http://minddesk.com/qubicle_constructor.php

If you want the larger version of info, I will have to dig at it. Though I am sure y2bcrazy will be in shortly to give a much more refined post than my ignorant babblings...

EDIT: (I hate not having data to back up claims, so here be data! Sorry, no B4 or Lore)

The game will soon support external model creations made in Qubicle (minddesk.com) where you can make anything one cube at a time. aside from that, Vox will have all the necessary tools for modding.

Actually, the free version of qubicle is enough for everything I've made so far. Nothing exceeds the 50^3 maximum allowed in teh free edition. Home edition would simply be the total package allowing you to do everything you want (shape selections, multiple matrixes).

I can go on a huge discussion about which to get and how to use it but to be straight with you guys, the free version is enough for modding.

Actually I prefer to use in-game editor than free version of paid software that may or may not be enough for what I want to do (I usually do fairly detailed characters.)

In that case, the information in this thread is what you're after:
(Also I fail to see how an in-game editor can make more detailed models, than a program designed to make models...)

If you put 2 and 2 together here you get:

1) You can (if wanted) make custom models via a external editor

2) You can make/edit models in-game

Technically, you will be able to recreate models from scartch, form nothingness and feel like a god :p
The reason why we provide models for you guys to edit is because some people find it more painful to start from scratch but if you really want to you can take any one of my models (within the game), delete every layer of voxels and bring it down to 1 cube. From there you would be able to make what you want.
If the animation system doesn't work with the model you made you'll be able to create and design a bone system (with animation) for your model.

Honestly, designing a full model with only 1 cube as a base is many times harder than cutting down from an existant model, primarily for conceptualization reasons. (i.e. can you envision a monster from 1 cube).
I'll discuss the creation tool with AG further so that you guys have as much creative flexibility as possible.

(if you like we can add a block character that you can cut down and refine, a blank, white model that is simply a grouping of 10x10 boxes)
