How to host your own dedicated server?

I got a server computer at my home and I want to use it to host a rust server. But I can't seem to find any standalone dedicated server files to host the server itself. Any ideas?

Why do people have to pay additional money for servers for an alpha we paid $20 for? I don't get it. Hardly anything to this game, there were times when the servers were completely full and people had no choice but to pay more money for hosting and pay big providers instead of using what they already have, a lot of us have VPS/Dedicated machines already. Sounds like EA with their hand picked providers and server slot tax.

Don't know how you got the files but had you read the very first sentence on that site you'd have seen this: "It requires a beta password that is currently only provided to dedicated hosting companies".

AKA, what I said in my post, the little guy now has to pay bloated GSP prices even if we want a small server, we have no choice but to pay for large player counts to the big guy's who profit.

Files downloaded freely on the instructions here. I do not mind 44 euros to rent a server. Question rests on the quality of communication between me and host. Well, I can not play with a ping of 700 ms.
How the server with 15 players can be considered public and claim something? I'm not talking about earnings. It's advertising this game. Developers should be profit! :)

The point is, we would like to host the server by ourself if we have the require hardware, which I do in this case and most likely others have too, in this topic.

Currently in the Internet you can download the server part of Rust (for Windows). I'm not asking about whether it can physically start the server. I asked about the license for it.

Doesn't matter if you have the files without the password cuz making a lot more money than they intended isn't enough, they have to partner with "selected GSP's" so they can leach our money too.

HFB servers are terrible, somehow they get to host them and make money with their servers crashing multiple times per day and they don't fix them for half a day.

I wish you could host it yourself too. It's the main reason I won't buy this game. I have zero interest in playing with people outside of my group of friends. I have even less interest in renting a server when so many other games allow you to host your own game (7DTD, MC, lots more).

Worst case if you could rent a server for a lower number of players at a reasonable price it would still suck donkey but might suck less. 25-35/mo to rent a server just to play with friends ain't happenin.

Wow, so much whining and complaining! The game is in alpha. They have indicated that -right now-, they are not making dedicated servers publicly available. Once it hits full release, or maybe even beta, and they are comfortable with where the code for the servers is at, they will release it. Just calm your self and wait for the server to be released.
