Tweaked Parameters?
@Dev.
OK. Now that was cool! Because I've opted for the Beta I assume you tweaked the parameters a little. I am playing the same play through as before, have not quit and restarted to see if I could get a better map. This time I was able to make it to a supply cache next to the PUP tent and back to Beta Habitat. It was so cool because it was based on my choices and not random chance. The first time I tried after this update I failed because I stupidly went in the opposite direction than what I was supposed to. Because I did not stop to activate tne Nav tower in both cases I was flying blind for a moment. But I knew oxygen was at a premium. The second time I did not make the same mistake and so made it back with 14% oxygen and about 85% battery. Like I said though, it was based on my choices and not some random thing. So if you did in fact tweak the parameters a little, thank you. Now I have enough food to try and find the Gamma Habitat. Which is all this has been about anyway.

Some really cool changes!

CO2 has never really been a problem for me though, neither has battery. I just take a stack of filled oxygen canisters with me and use the flashlight very sparingly. I do think you could make the filled canisters blueprints available right from the start though; I can't imagine filling a container would be something extremely hard that an astronaut isn't trained for (after all, they'd need to fill the oxygen container on the EVA suit).

I'm really glad with the food though, as there's currently no way to eat when on EVA. I do think however, that a better way of improving the food system would be to lower the rate of organ damage instead. Calories seem to get burned up at a pretty realistic rate, but in real life the body reserves are enough to last a couple of weeks without food, instead of a meagre day max. Similarly for water. I think the rate of organ damage should be such, that without other problems, you should die in 3 days or so without water, and a week or 3 without food based on some scientific estimates. And then you could leave the calory depletion as before.

Just my 2 cents ;)

EDIT: not sure if the update broke something or if it's something else, but suddenly after loading my last save, all the white locations that I discovered have suddenly moved on the map, some to places on the other side of the map I haven't even been yet.

@Darker99
First off,thanks for the tip about oxygen. I missed that one somehow. I thought we could only do that at the crafting bench with the right tools/blueprints. Didn't know there were canisters we could refill from without it. I had walked all the way to the PUP tent and there were 3 canisters right there. But I got frustrated at not being able to enter the PUP tent that I did not even consider the canisters. About the white diamonds, I decided to test if were the PUP tent was if it was still there, because it displayed a white diamond. I went all the way back there. However, this time I made sure that the NAVStat on the way was activated. Sure enough everything was still there including the white diamond when I got close enough. But, there is a white diamond on my map that I did have on there before. That's OK though, because now I have a definite location to traverse to that I did not know existed before. Maybe Gamma will be near there. When I went back to the PUP tent this time I totally emptied everything from the containers including the canisters. Even some other containers I found in addition to the ones at the PUP. Gonna pretend it's a supply drop from NASA.

I'll have to investigate the issue with the white diamond markers moving on the map. And yes, the organ damage rate might actually be incorrect. I'll take another look at that. Thanks.

Today I again reloaded my savegame, and the markers have again moved. Also, 2 have completely disappeared. At least two of them seem to be where they originally were though, so it could be that the objects themselves stay put, but something goes wrong in the discovery flags. If I can do anything to help investigate the bug, just let me know :)

Oh, and the weather screen says tempterature ;)

I'll be looking into the map marker issue. Thanks for reporting your details.
