I think I need some help

After defeating the fire boss I backtracked a little and now I'm in a fight against Magus. He only takes 10~30 damage tho and I dont know why and he keeps healing for a little more than 100 healing the damage dealt by about the same ammount. I read some tips here saying I should destory the crystal and the angel ghost which is impossible because there is none (should I take magus to half hp or something like that before the angel appears?)

Did I mess up with the build (spent some points on luck before going to str)?

This is covered in a few threads. If you buff yourself or heal yourself, the Magus can steal your magic and heal herself. There's also a giant crystal healing her at the top of the map.

The healing is not the problem, its my low damage. I can even outdamage her healing after detroying the crystal without losing hp myself, its just that it takes more time than what I'm aiming for. I watched some videos and people deal way more damage than me and I'm trying to figure out why

same things happening to me, i just gave up and quit. I can stay alive but i cant do enough damage to actually kill magus

Just don't cast any heal spells? 10-30 damage a hit is quite a bit. Mix in some dark magic into your combos and she should die. Especially since in the screenshot you're using that armor that gives you a magic damage buff every time you crit.

Magus has high armor, try using Dark spells against her. Also, try to increase your Dark affinity, by equipping Dark aligned equipement and spells

You also leveled-up all your stats, and it might be a problem if you also put your skill points in the 3 skill trees.

For Magus, I'd say : try to put some skill points in the Magic tree, especially the "Add Dark Magic to your attacks" skill. Also, try to spam Dark Strike to break Magus guard and start/keep your combo. Hellish Descent will take care of the Angel and the Crystal.

I remember my 1st time facing Magus, quite frustrating. But now, Magus is a lot of fun, because she's not cheap, you can't easily pummel her to death because she got heal from crystal and shield from the angel. She's hard to get ;-)

Here's some tips that should help a lot:

Down fire spell does very good damage to Magus (even if your INT is just 1). Cast it on her face so he can't steal the magic midway.

The angel is very weak to fire down spell, won't likely to survive 1.

Pay attention to summoned swords attack if you're gonna go to top platforms. Wait, avoid (dash/block), go up.

Don't buff yourself, Magus will steal it because she's naughty ;-)

For your current build (with not much mana + murderous rainment), I would suggest: hit hit hit hit (heavy combo), down fire. Repeat.

Hybrids can be good, but you have to plan well. I already finished the game with a Str/Int hybrid, worked quite well. But a 4-stat hybrid? Tricky.

For me, you're best bet is an affliction build, with bleeding in the Warrior tree, and the dark side of the magic tree. Also, try to craft the Poison Dagger, it should help.

You can't respec your stats, however, you CAN respec your skills in a secret room in Tagrum. (Sould be accessible with Ice pillar + long jump with an Air spell)

And skills tend to have a greater impact than stats.

Edit : just tested it, you can indeed access the Mesmer.

I'm not casting heals. Tried spamming dark stirke like this guy

(he deals like 3 times the damage I do tho)
and mixing in between combos to take advanatge of spell damage bonus on crits but didnt help much

Also sorry I got carried away with the number 10-30, more ike 20-45.
Oh and its on max difficulty (I think it was godslayer the name)

oh my, I did that (put skillpoints in 3 skill trees). Also did the dark magic on attack thing, gotta love them leechs lel ^^ I think thats why I'm not dealing as much damage as I think I'm supposed to to kill her in time

Ok, checked the game, try to find the Mesmer in Tagrum, and aim for Tactical strikes in the Warrior Tree and Ruin in the Savior Tree. Cunning, Combo expert, and Blade shred are nice too.

oh i didnt know this mesmer guy. Thank you for the info, now I must test this new baby out

That video is based on .20 (or old .21) Magus. It's a little different fight now. For one, the heals from the crystal are now 63 per tick instead of 49. Magus also doesn't steal spells for healing anymore, instead opting to steal them for some sort of buff. Also, the Angel now appears near Magus, it can move, and it attacks more often with better attacks).
