...0 actual game play so far.
The best thing to do is to queue up and have the game in window mode, and you can do something while waiting on the queue, or chat with others in the game. You could also play against golems (AI bots) to check out the mechanics of the game.
The more people hone their patience, the less patience will be needed
It's a Beta, so whaddya want ;D
...Back to the waiting list.
3 hours is more the exception than the norm; I'd say most queues are around 30-45 minutes tops on a bad night.
For more tangible gains, try either queueing up during peak hours (early afternoon US West/late afternoon US East is when a large portion of games occur, and the developers have their own employees play around 12 PM every weekday) or otherwise make enough friends in the forums that you can mobilize an entire game essentially by yourself: a lot of the players in this community are on DOTA 2 or some other game when I log onto Sins, and I'm sure a few well-meaning requests here and there would bring 4-5 players into the queue with me immediately.
The fact that I don't do so is a reflection on my unwillingness to play too much of an unfinished game overzealously, and not on the lack of openness of this community whatsoever.
Also, the reason you are probably receiving slightly bemused replies to requests for more games is the simple fact that dozens of users before you have started that very same type of thread in the past few months.
What we forum veterans fail to understand is the thought process behind most of these posts: "Hello, I am a new player to this game. I have purchased entry into this unfinished Early Access title for $5, and now demand inceasingly expedient match-ups between players all over the world, because that is the mindset I brought to this community even though the developers opened this Beta for completely different reasons."
I understand some of you might have been spoiled by certain developers claiming their "unfinished" titles need more Early Access exposure when in fact the games are already complete, and simply desire a prolonged pseudo-Beta period to mislabel glaring mistakes in game design as "QA oversights."
In other words, ours is a true Beta, and any players uncomfortable with the prospect of waiting several months for this game's community to finally get up and running need not bother logging in too often, because the game has been more or less in a testing state since 2012, and is not going to be kicked, stumbling out of the gate, by a trigger-happy publishing team.
I find that notion to be more comforting than anything else, but if recent forum posts are anything to go by, my view is unfortunately the minority's =\
Don't consign yourself to just bots, mate; if you reach out to Tug and Lord Manny of House Veric, they could alert you to when a game's looking for more players (as they do for me from time to time,) and your experience within the (ever-growing) community would be all the richer for it.
I'll admit that the game's pretty skeletal in its current state, but I'd like to think that it's got some simply sexy bone structure ;D
To be honest, it's pretty much June already, so you needn't wait for too much longer XD
The AI is extrremely feeble because the devs only placed them as punching bags for new players; they're going to put up a much bigger fight later on ^^
As for you not wanting to wait, that's fine, mate; just keep us on your watchlist and check in every few weeks to see what new things we have in store for you ;D
There are usually people in General Chat at most hours of the day. 4-9am EST may be sort of low popularity hours (there may be few people on at that time,) but I was just in Chat and saw 13 or so names.
If your General Chat is empty, there is a chance that it could be bugged out.
If it persists, report back here.
