Why pray tell, would you pay for a game in closed beta to not play it during said closed beta even though it was implicitly stated it would be free later? You had nearly a year before F2P and it's been free for 2 months... so no. Buyer's remorse is not a valid reason for a refund.

Valve controlls refunds. And im pretty sure you can not do that.

I actually agree with you. They should be refunding this, since they aren't actually delivering the product. The assumption with an online required product is that you are receiving the online component of said product for a reasonably expected period. Nobody would ever call a few months a reasonable period for any online game. We'd all call that an utter failure and a complete failure to launch as promised.

P.S. Steam is refunding people that purchased packs for Infinite Crisis. They need to do the same here, and this publisher/dev should be banned from placing anything on Steam and have everything currently up suspended until everyone is repaid for this catastrophe.

P.P.S. I played this and considered it to be a fun game. I'm very disappointed to see it fail, but I figured it would during ALPHA. The graphics are just awful and not attractive in this genre of game.
You're going alittle too far, I agree with refunding ingame bought stuff like IC did, but not a refund on the game itself.

Graphic were decent to me, they just need better animation

Funny how the people who never played the game and contributed to it failing want their money back.

It's $5. If that's a lot for you, get off the Internet and get a job. :cfacepalm:

You also bought Early Access, which is not the crap Infinite Crisis pulled. In Early Access, you are paying for the game then and there, regardless of if it fails, or if it goes free to play. Go read the Early Access FAQ.

This game has been playable for the last year. There's virtually zero reason for Valve to set the precedent here. Don't like it? Don't buy Early Access.

Hey FISH KILL.

I am going to answer this to the best of my knowledge.

All Early Access and free to play purchases made via the Early Access Bundles or through in-game and market transactions up to Tuesday, June 30th went to support the development costs of the game.

As of that date until now, all funds related to Sins of a Dark Age are now going to support the servers, potentially extending the September 30th date. If enough players support the game and if the player base grows, the servers could hypothetically remain indefinitely.

If I get any more official information, I will try my best to post it here.

Thank you.

Yes...because I didn't wanna wait 2 hours in queue to play maybe a 20-30 minute match. Totally my fault that the game is dying. To be honest I watched on this game all the time with the steamcharts stats to see how many are playing and such. If there would have been more people playing, I would have played a whole lot more than 2 hours, but considering half my play time was waiting in queue for a really long time...I just chose to say, "♥♥♥♥ it. Maybe it'll be booming once it goes free."

Also where did I say that I didn't like the game? Even though I could only play one match, I actually enjoyed what I had played. Seriously why do you feel the need to be so hostile? Grow up.

Edit: Not that it matters anyways, VALVe declined my refund request.

Hostile? Sorry that some cold, hard reasoning is viewed as hostile, maybe you should consider your own advice. Clearly, I was right. :cfacepalm:

And 2 hours in queue? We talking about the same game? I've played over 300 matches since it went Free-to-Play, and never waited more than 15 minutes.

There is no argument to be had, I'm not sure where you're even getting that vibe from. I laid out some solid reasoning as to why Valve won't refund you, and now you're just butt-blasted that I was right.
Hey FISH KILL.

For supporting Early Access, you should have received one of three Early Access Bundles[soada.wikia.com], entrance into Closed Beta, and the ability to help influence the game during that stage of development.

It is unfortunate that the game has only one more major update planned, but the devs are grateful for the support given during its Early Access stage of Closed Beta.

It is my understanding that the game was always slated to be free to play, so I do not think that there would be a refund in this case even if the development were still continuing, as Steam refunds are a relatively new addition and came after the game entered its Free to Play stage of development.

I am locking this for now, but I hope my posts have shed light on the issue.

Thank you for understanding.
