I'll forward this to the dev team!
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask away, and I will try my best to answer them.
Woo haha, ill be waiting ^.^
Thanks for the support :D The Ironclad label is what first got me to notice this game, and the communicative Dev team blew my mind, and I was sold. After a many months of working closely with these guys as a volunteer moderator throughout the beta and speaking with them every day, they hired me!
The Devs not only communicate, but they listen, discuss, and share. This truly makes them part of the community, and truly makes the community part of the development process. They play the game every day with the player base as to never be disconnected or out of touch. These are problems rampant with larger companies, but will never be a problem here.
Not only have they made my dreams come true by giving me the opportunity to work for my favorite game company, but they changed my life from a narrow path to a wide open pristine beach front, and have given me a sense of meaning. I mention this to reinforce the fact that they aren't just doing it for publicity, but because they actually care about the community and the product they are creating together.
Thanks again Redfox, and I hope to see you in game soon!

Wow, thats pretty awesome man ^.^ congrats for that! But yes I agree large companies have these problems, but so do smaller companies. To be honest you guys are the most interactive yet and its very much needed in todays gaming world and you guys hit it on the spot :D
Im so glad theres still companies with people like you around as todays gaming industry is getting worst
As i said before you guys are awesome, keep it up!
And you sure will see me in game! Once i get better ping :P
I will say this -- I played a bit of Heroes of the Storm last night amd I'd have to say that I enjoyed SoaDA quite a bit more. I'm a huge Blizzard fan and the game was great don't get me wrong. However, the whole time I played I was wishing it could be more like SoaDA. If HOTS had anything on SoaDA it's in the graphics department. Other than that it didn't compare imo. The special events on each map are basically Realm Quests, but only one per map (as far as I could see), and I really missed the items, glyphs, craftable items and skins, responsiveness of controls etc. So, thanks you Devs for this game and keep up the great work!!
I'll help to spread the word about this in every place possible and hope good success for this.
I wish good weekend and year 2014 for every Dev and everyone else @ Team

As Rygel stated in this post here, MOBA/ARTS/Hero Brawler, etc. are all interchangeable. To the best of my knowledge, Dota considers itself and action strategy game. I am fairly sure the word MOBA does not show up on Dota's store page (other than the user descriptions.) There is also a user defined MOBA tag for Sins of a Dark Age as well.
Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), also known as action real-time strategy (ARTS). Source[en.wikipedia.org]. The store description clearly states that Sins of a Dark Age is an action strategy game. For reference, "Dota is a competitive game of action and strategy," Source
In terms of personal attacks, reviewing the locked thread shows that you stated:
I do not see any personal attacks on Slaig's end.
I don't have anything personal against you and you are free to screenshot whatever you like. I don't have anything to hide. I linked to the post from a new post notification, so I wasn't even aware it was locked when I posted it (i have full forum rights). Every day I go through the new posts to stay in touch with the community.
While I understand you may be upset at some of the responses you received, and perhaps you were extra sensitive because my post was near the end, but it was hardly intended to be an attack. I stay as close as I can to the community, and while I could be wrong, I think there are more than a few players that can attest to my positive character and sincere effort to make all feel welcome. There are lots of nice players in the game, and community spirit factors into many of our development decisions. We don't want to be 'just another moba'. We want to do away with the baggage some people associate with the genre. We were all first time players at some point, including the developers.
My only request, if you are still interested, is to give the game a few hours of play so you can see all the unique features that make it a really fun game to play. If you need any help getting started, you can see dev names in red, but most players are pretty helpful too. If you still feel the genre just isn't your thing, that's cool too. I appreciate your support with sins of a solar empire.
See you around,
Craig
Put another way, the proof shall henceforth be "in the pudding," as they say.
His tone only changed after yours did. I'm pretty sure calling developers "d-bags" and telling them to "F_k off" elicits a different response from them than a simple "Hello" would.
First of all, your piddling Twitter followers and anonymous Steam sympathizers aside, you cannot claim legitimacy on the basis of past appeal. Sure, you supported Ironclad in the past, but that does not make you some sort of "exceptional" figurehead in future interactions with the company. All it does is build history between you and them, nothing less, but nothing more.
And if you want to compare purchasing history, I dropped $125 on the original Gold Founder's bundle when it was first available, and the developers have taken my criticism/suggestions on their game very well, even implementing them in a timely manner with no defensive excuses being made whatsoever. Take from that what you will.
The term "MOBA" is a misnomer (even Call of Duty and Pokemon Stadium can be described as "multiplayer online battle arenas") used by Riot Games to (successfully, it unfortunately seems) distance themselves from the modding group that made the original DotA mod back when Pendragon-the-Backstabber was still a nobody, and Guinsoo was still unsure as to where his loyalties lay. Icefrog also had a shady past come out of those times, what with his involvement with S2 and all, but that only makes him as bad as everyone else already is, and that's if you believe everything they say about him.
Fast-forward to today, and DOTA 2's annual International tournament holds a whopping ten million US dollars (and counting) spread all throughout the bracket, although it never claimed to be anything close to a "MOBA," as the developers only describe it as "a competitive game of action and strategy." If DOTA 2 players can be allowed to "vote with their wallets" (something you also tried so pitifully to do above) it is immediately evident that millions of people all throughout the globe are perfectly fine with Valve not claiming Riot Game's laughable marketing ploy of the "MOBA" tag as their own, and for good reason at that.
Sure, the user-defined tags state that DOTA 2 is a "MOBA," but no one ever said that Steam users are the brightest lights in the room, you being an unfortunately self-exhibited example.
Ah yes, you being quite the unbiased critic that you are, eh? No personal agenda outstanding, whatsoever?
That's like Nixon framing the Watergate papers as part of his campaigning strategy.
Wisdom from the mouth of babes, if ever I've read any.
If only you could taste the irony here; it thickens the very air.
I'm having quite the fun time doing just that, if you could believe it.
What the devs are "about" is appointing forum moderators to sift through heaps of ad hominem garbage so they don't have to, which is kind of the point of the position, no?
The devs here don't work for Valve. They co-own a million-dollar game development company, a regime I'm sure your three-digit Twitter army can help topple with Steam comments that you yourself have so helpfully screenshotted for everyone.
And the stupidity too, make sure to mention that as well.
I see it more as unhinged barking, but that's obviously my personal take on the entire matter.
I'm pretty sure he "got it," which is why he had a problem with you labeling it as such in the first place.
Not like you, of course. You're the very epitome of cultured orator, and don't ever let anyone else tell you otherwise.
Take it easy, little guy. The rest of us are trembling at the very thought of crossing you, I swear it.
Welcome to the party ^^
Not sure if i want to lol, never expected my thread to turn into a battlefield :P
