This title made me chuckle a little because I literally told a friend the other day that was considering paying for the EA that they should wait. The game itself has alot of issues and paying 5 dollars to get the EA is crazy because you can craft a skin pretty quickly on this for under 5 bucks if you get friends and play a little.

Sometimes i love the game but 90% of the time lately it has turned me into a pissed off and bitter human being that wished he bought a couple burgers from mickey D's rather then buy this early access game lol.

Lol what issues does it have? I'd say it's borderline release besides a couple of refinements, the game's playerbase is the only REAL issue here and you having your friend get the game would help out with that. And why does crafting skins quickly for under $5 make getting this game in Early Access crazy?

Same thing I was wondering. I would have thought that was a reason to try it out :P

Either way, Early Access isn't for everyone. That's why we put warnings on the store page and in the FAQ. Even Valve had to issue a new clause warning people about potentials aggravations with Early Access games in general. As much as I want more people in Early Access, if Early Access isn't someone's thing, they should probably keep an eye out for final release to avoid getting frustrated. We've got bugs, we have imbalances, we have incomplete features, we have a low player base, and of course, we have all the issues you identified in your feedback thread. If we didn't we wouldn't be in EA :)

Bah, but there are some Early Access enthusiasts out there (like moi :D)

As much as I agree that the game has a few incomplete features, I can't say I've found enough bugs for the game to bother me (in fact I don't think I've really found any bugs period), and I believe the game is very balanced at the moment. I can't remember who, but somebody once said something along the lines of "It feels like all of the characters in Sins of a Dark Age are overpowered, and that's just what makes this game awesome."

Keep up the good work out there guys :D

Yes, you can Quickplay to get into a matchmaking game. There are peak player hours of the day, so your wait times may vary.

A promotion is planned for later this month that will really help with the queue times hopefully!

f ing a that would help i lot

Really? Fanboying come on arn't we above this saying there are no issues? Look at the last match I played. How was the MM system even remotely fair? I could have randomized a pick an made it more fair personally.

We had 3x players under lvl 5, ME a lvl 10 with an under 50% W/L ratio and another 24 with a way worse W/L ration vs an entire team of pretty damn good players. Go look, I will wait and see if honesty kicks in.

Also how long has the game been in EA? Some people have told me over a year and even for an Indie company of 5 thats a long time unless no one works full time. ESPECIALLY for a Moba because you save tons of time on environments and such things that other games spend a year doing alone.

As far as issues honestly talk to ANY person that has played mobas a while and you will hear the #1 complaint is the MM systems. Now the argument i hear from the devs and it IS a logical one is the player pool limits how fair we can make it...YES, this is a believable issue HOWEVER the MM system doesn't even get close 90% of the time.

If I compare my games that lasted over an hour to games that ended in early surrenders it would be probably around a 4 to 1 ratio in favor of the surrenders easily. That is not the sign of a MM system that works. However just to prove my data is right I am starting a little spread sheet and over the next month I will be collecting the data and then sharing it with the devs and playerbase . I already have about a weeks worth of results so i will give this a few more weeks and see where we end up.

Also far I am 99% sure your MM system counts bot wins in the matchmaking which is bull because people with tons of BOT wins are not equal to people that play only PvP.
Zachagawea 13 jun. 2014 às 14:10
I will correct myself we had 2x 24s 1 of which admitted he has only won 2x pvp matches the entire time he has played SoaDA. Sorry had to correct that to be fair.

I'm not sure about the exact specifics of matchmaking, but maybe premade parties may have disrupted the sides a bit (not sure though.)

Hopefully the upcoming promotion planned for later this month will add some new players and allow more fine tuned feedback on matchmaking.

Early Access began around March 14th, 2014 (roughly three months ago.) Before EA was the Founder access period, which began around December, 2013.

The previous beta build pre-Steam began December 2012. However, this was pre-Steam, and Soada had its own launcher, forums, and separate publisher. Ironclad split from the publisher around maybe July or August of 2013, so they basically had to start from the ground up with Steam integration around that date.

I will ask a dev to get some more specific matchmaking details, but it may just be a small player base issue. When the promotion hits later this month, the devs will collect feedback on how matchmaking is with a larger player base.

Stay tuned!
