Stick it to The Man! tries to be an offbeat and funny sidescrolling platformer, and it mostly succeeds.
You start the game by getting hit on the head and developing a superpower which lets you read other people's minds and conjure/manipulate objects in the world (which are called stickers). With the help of these stickers you solve all the "puzzles" in the game. I put puzzles in quotations because they're not real puzzles, there is basically no thinking involved, you just try sticking every sticker where it is possible and you solve it, that's all there is to it.
Similarly, there is no difficulty involved with the platforming in the game. And sadly the same goes for avoiding the enemies. They move in predictable patterns and it's easy to lose them even if you get spotted, that means that you're just going thorugh the motions most of the time.
Despite all that the story, dialogue and art style are here to save the game. It's hard to do humour in video games and Stick it to The Man! manages just that quite often. I am not talking about laugh out loud moments, but I was most certainly entertained throughout the game, even if there is a bit too much of listening to oneliners when you're reading people's minds. Finally, the art style alone is worth checking out, it gives the illusion of everything being made from paper or carboard and it achieves a very nice effect which doesn't get old until the end.
I couldn't recommend the game based on the gameplay alone, however the style of the game is absolutely worth checking out.
