Hard Setting

Hi everyone. Loving this game. However, Hard mode is really doing my head in. I can not for the love of god finish it! I can easily do easy and medium no problem. Am I missing a trick here as I know how to play this game but luck is never on my side on Hard even after reaching Darkness on many a time I just get stuck in an endless HTH cycle after the first shot with the Lance misses. Yet I see many people with less hours play have done this mode easier than me.

Any tips would be appreciated.

If you can reach Darkness on hard, it really does just come down to luck after that. Having the C.A.T.S. on your Laser Lance helps a lot with lucky shots if your first shot misses, so if you don't have one and find a dump that lets you choose a device, I recommend doing so instead of taking a refill or ammo reload. Beyond that, you just have to hope your opening shot connects, or that you get a good opening for a lucky shot if it doesn't.

Getting C.A.T.S is by pure luck. Seeing as all card picks are random there is now way of getting it every game. Even with Device picks only and dump cards, you still may not get it. Let alone getting to Darkness 100% of the time. But I get what your saying.

Even on Easy with the best loadout possible and sixes for every roll, you can still lose the game if you get unlucky. Nothing is ever certain: the game is all about trying to the nudge the odds in your favor as much as possible.

I know this as I do have the boardgame also, which is what I like about the game. Never knowing what is round the next corner. I have finished hard mode at last. I used the save option which I never bothered with before at the start of the second deck. I find it more fun not to save but I wanted to finish hard at least once. As pure luck would have it, I managed to kill Darkness with the first shot, with no device buffs and rolling a six! and a five! with an accuracy base value of 0. Looking forward to the new content now.

Gz... I was going to say keep playing... eventually youll get lucky.... which is how I defeated Darkness. I think having the Rope launcher to avoid the chasm card and the device card (forget which) to avoid the effects of the lunatic help no end.

Everything else just depends on what youre getting that game - high levels of rad, venom, loads of enemies w/ high combat stat.

Generally if I can get the UV device to deflect wandering zeds then you can reduce alot of time if you are getting lots of these cards. Having high stats in combat either HtH or Firearm is essential. One or the other... but the rest is all down to what are the majority of cards you face.

I tend to find that unless I get Darkness on the first shot I wont make it.

I just can't get the zombie venom one, even though I've followed other people's advice...

I have only ever died from venom twice. Once by sheer luck and the other sort of forced.

Here is how I did it. With a bit of random luck mind. Right, firstly i had to re-roll many a times, on hard, my resistance level to poison and radiation. I was getting scores of about 8-9 at a push. But keep on at it and I got it as low as 5! Thats the luck part. When you have your low number, save right at the start. Something I never bothered with before.

Now play as normal and you should (hopefully) get it soon enough with some luck. You could save after every venom attack to keep you venom tally, but I never did. If it goes belly up, just reload the save from the start. That is what I did and it really didn't take long or many attempts to succumb to the venom.

Like I said the key is the low roll at the start. Get that and your halfway there. Hope it helps.

Woah! I did it! I had no real idea just how low your endurance could go but I had one of 6 on my first go this evening and, with the use of saves, I finally got the most difficult achievement :)
