New Ending Now In
Hi all, thanks for your patience in waiting for the developer to fix the ending of the game. When you boot up the game, you may notice there is a Steam update and we are happy to confirm that the new ending is now in.

Once again we’d like to take the opportunity to apologize for the abrupt and incomplete original ending which should not have been passed by our QA team. We aim to publish high quality games and please rest assured that we have learned from this experience and have taken steps to ensure that something like this does not happen ever again.

We hope you enjoy the game.

Thanks for the update!!

Is the ending the ONLY thing changed, or the build-up to the ending tweaked/changed as well? Cause that was the bigger issue, not the ending per se.

Silver tape now is the new ending lol

That's crap blaming the QA team. Blame the lead developer or producer who filed it as WNF or "as designed". Look at your bug database and I'm sure you will find a task or bug about it.

Yes of course, because it couldn't have possibly been the main developers fault for the ending... Oh you, QA, you so silly.

Nope. Entire staff got canned after the failed Kickstarter. There *was* to QA team. Got my refund and have no intention of rebuying this drek.

You DO realize that in most software companies, the project lead generally looks over everything before release, even AFTER QA is finished with it, right? Throwing your QA team (if you even had one) under the bus for what is obviously the product of bad design & programming is just disgusting.

Oh, and you didn't fix a damn thing. Instead of an abrupt ending & a wall of text, we now have an abrupt ending & a hastily slapped together ending cut scene. The wall of text was never really the problem; it was the abruptness which ticked people off. That you couldn't even perceive this doesn't speak well of your overall competence.

I feel bad for anyone on the team who actually did give a crap about this project, but it's clear as day that this was pushed out the door quickly after the failed kickstarter in an attempt to grab as much cash as possible with what you had done.

I got my refund, and will be avoiding projects from you people in the future.

I doubt the first part very much considering your overall attitude towards this incident. Blaming the QA team? Really? And of course it won't happen ever again. No-one's going to buy a game from you again. Especially since you fired the actual devs. Are they even getting paid for this game? Who actually made the new ending to Dark Matter Effect 3?

There is a mix-up here. I am the CEO of the Publisher, not of the Developer. Even when on this forum I somehow have a developer tag (there is no such thing as a Publisher tag).

We puiblished the game of the developer, InterWave Studios. We have no control over that company or their operations or policies.

Thank-you for the new ending, that's much appreciated. I'm sorry that the internet community has attacked your game, very excessively in my opinion. I think it's a good game.

LOL. Did you even PLAY UNTIL THE "NEW ENDING"?

I had the luck, it seems, that I hadn't played the game before the new ending was implemented. I do look forward to get in there as soon as I get a day off though. The people working on this update need some props, I think it was strong and shows that the devs care about their creation.

You realize the only reason they put in this "new ending" is because they were pulled from all digital retailers other than their own store. The didn't even care enough to remove the sections of the tutorial that showed you weapons you can never get.

The devs didn't care enough about this title to finish it until someone started taking money away from them in the form of refunds. All they care about is their wallets.

Ill be honest, i havent played this much, i didnt bother getting a refund when they were being handed out.

If this is the worst game i buy on steam and only pay a few bucks for it, ill be very happy.

I saw a video of the origional ending, which, imo, should have been kept as sort of a "what will make this game famous" type of thing.

I didnt buy this game for a AAA big budget quality game, and i like that i have a game that people seem so...emotional about.

I think steam should have offered refunds though, that was the right thing to do...but personally...im happy with my purchase, and eventually ill get around to playing all my under $20 games...im hoping for a special kind of apocolypse where power and internet remain working for that.

You kids take games too seriously i think. Especially for a game that was on the cheap. By all means torch and burn EA when they drop $60 worth of crap...but a defunct developer and a game with a hilariously bad ending...for ( i think i paid $12 for this)...ive had worse, and i feel its more a collectors item. I bought it when it was bad and then didnt want a refund...though from what ive seen its not bad, just an awesome ending lol.
