unit absence of west germany

does anyone know why the west germany has no EF 2000s? as far as i know they now serve in Luftwaffe as well as the UK Royal Air Force, but while the UK has them, germany has F-4 and tornado instead...

Its this, acording to Eugen's logic on the coalitions, you already have your ASF plane, the Rafale. But what if you want to play german national you say? Well to bad, play Eurocorps. Same reason ANZAC and Canada cant get anything good, cause UK already has it all!

Not to mention British AA was seriously lacking beforehand in ALB and desperatly needed something with a better statline than the Tornado had lol

i'd rather have them do it the other way, make the nations worth playing. I don't mind if Sweden, or Canada cant go head to head with the USSR, i dont expect them to... But these nations are missing out on a lot of stuff because they are stuck in Coalitions, no ASF hornet for ANZAC is one example :/

i'd rather have them excel in each nation, not with the bloody coaltions...
as to my opinion, WG now only excels in ground-AA defence and mechanized, while lacking good Air units, helis and armours...

If WG exceled in ground-AA defense and mechanized AS WELL AS jets, helis and armor, we would have one extremely OP nation that everybody would flock to and build decks around. Regardless of realism, there needs to be trade-offs to maintain balance. Balance > realism in a multiplayer game. If you feel that your well-built nation deck lacks in a certain area, you need to find a buddy to make up for it or make a new deck to fill the gap and let your AI team mate play it in Skirmish. I bet you that deck that makes up for the shortcomings of yours is going to have it's weak points too.

dude, US has good armour , good air units, good helis , not so bad mechanized infantries and fair enough AAs. I know in realism the US might have the strongest military power throughout the NATO, but as you said, there need to be "balancing", and US is where i don't see any "balancing". While WG only excels in two fields, i don't see why they can't have good Air to air units such as EF 2000, due to the fact that in realism the WG DOES have EF 2000 in the luftwaffe.

Mechanized units and AA are not good on US decks. NOT good. Helis are also not good, save for the Apache. Completely outclassed by every version of the Mi-xx.

US AA generally sucks, even with the new patriot it's sorely lacking when you compare it the abundance of mobile armoured stuff the pact nations have. Also US have really bad quality elite infantry, Delta Force are widely considered the worse Special forces in the game due to there crap LMG and Marines arnt really that special besides from their transport. Weaknesses need to be built into every nation so there all fun to play while being balanced.

Us does't excel in all areas and this is countered by the fact they aren't a member of a coalition. I wouldn't say in game the US is superior to Eurocorps.

i judged by my experience of playing , so i do understand that every one has different opinions...
anyway, thank you for answering the original topic of why germany has no EF 2000 as their air superiority unit.
