[ANNOUNCEMENT] Wargame Learning Program!
ENGLISH
Introducing the Wargame Learning Program - a community-wide initiative aimed to help new players to master Wargame: Red Dragon!
We are currently working with clan members, moderators, and mod-makers to deliver the most effective education methods for this complicated game. For now, we are focusing on "one-to-one in-game tutoring", but we have many plans laid out for the future, including those meant to attract a larger playerbase population.

Our Team:
Right now there are three of us trying to manage this collaboration: Shifu[www.wargame-ee.com], raventhefuher[www.wargame-ee.com], and I[www.wargame-ee.com]. We recognize that three is not enough people to run such an initiative, and so we will be accepting members soon. Anyone who is willing to tutor, be tutored, or help in any other way are welcome.

The Wargame Learning Program can also be abbreviated as WLP.

Our Stance:
We'd like to assist you, whatever language you speak, whatever skill level you have, and whatever schedule you must yield. Also, we'd like to point you to the various other resources (such as videos, forum threads, and written guides) which are very useful to get a grasp on the game.

As a team, we are not affiliated or partnered with Eugen, though we try to communicate with representatives for consent, notification, etc.

Our Goals (however far) :
- Reach out to more gamers and make Wargame more known
- Expand the known population of people willing to help
- Have new people be introduced and involved in the community
- Teach the essence of W:RD, as well as provide tips and tools
- Encourage friendships between tutors/learners, or any combination thereof
- Lower the frequency of pubstomps in multiplayer games
- Support a general rule of ethics, especially concerning teamwork and the global chat
- Host community events and promote those already existing, as well as mods and clans.
- Make this program known to those not involved in the Forums!

If you wish to benefit from those tutors' experience to improve your Wargame's skills, please go there:

Pls design new amphibious icons
i found so many units(Armored personnel carrier,Infantry fighting vehicle,Tank Destroyer) had the function of amphibious.
but they're different icons types.
it's very hard to distinguish who has amphibious function in the battle.
So could you kindly design a brand new icon for who has amphibious.
pls redesign icons of amphibious. and set amphibious as priority one

Know your enemy... ...and your own troops!

Wg isn't arcarde, it goes deeper, really deep. So please no new icons. Once you know your deck, you don't need them.

mars_yu_tw, the first link in the op is worth gold!

I started two years ago with wg:ee, got only a few units and learnd more and more about the others by the time. Thougt "this game isn't for me, needs too much time, makes headache' paused for a year, But I came back, learned about the units, about strategy and enjoy the wg series since last year more than 90% of all my other games. It developed itself to one of my three absolut favorits.

It's true. The learning curve is steep, but it's more than worth when you get the yield for the invested time and work!

Infact, today I play three different games, don't need all others anymore. And one of them is WG!

Thx Eugen, you help me to relax after work! ;-)

Hey, I just started playing this game. I went to the deck and check out the unit. It was good until I figured out that I cannot change the camera angle to view the unit. I tried left mouse, right mouse, middle mouse and moved it around, but nothing happen. Do you know how to solve it ? I would glady appreciate.

If you're new focus on ground combat maps. Try out about 5-10 games on 10v10 to get the controls down and see how units work. Learn your hotkeys! Turn off clouds and other superfluous options. If you happen to get beat badly then you should watch the replay under profile -> replay to understand what they had and what their line of sight was like. If you find replays to download or wish to upload replays and ask for help then you can find the files here: C:\Users\TriumphsPCprofile\Saved Games\EugenSystems\WarGame3

Im learning too, if any other newbies want a match add me and we can play eachother.

Can anyone answer a couple of very newbie questions for me?
1. What is the best way to learn the game as a totally new player? Playing the campaign? Or chosing one of the ready built decks and learning to use it through skirmish mode? I am finding the campaign difficult because I often find myself fighting battles without the necessary components e.g. recon, or supply....
2. Do recon units function as recon while in their transport, i.e. if it is a recon infantry unit in a helicopter transport, do I need to land and unload before they will start spotting enemies?
3. When I unload infantry units into buildings, what do I do with the vehicles/helicopters they arrived in? Do I land them, or move them back to keep them save? Or are leave them as part of the squad with thier own offensive/defensive capacity?
4. Do units in forrest receive a negative bonus to their aiming when firing from cover? Does this apply to artillery?
5. What is the FOB and how does it work? Do supply trucks have to return to the FOB to resupply?

I have lots more questions but won't push my luck :) This game seems very complex, challenging and interesting which is all great.. but a playable tutorial for totally new players is surely a must, I have NO IDEA what is going on most of the time!
Paul Apr 19 @ 1:22am
1. skirmish with small weak selfmade decks
2. you need to unload them
3. hide them for later use. they also can do a little recon or fight if they've weapons.
4. when they've line of sight to target they can shoot at it as normal.
5. yes, rightclick on fob and they will fill up automaticaly.

maybe this thread is helpful for you: http://steamcommunity.com/app/251060/discussions/0/558753803704240214/#p1

Hi, how do I load units back into vehicles or helicopters having unloaded them, in order to move them quickly to a new location?
