Steam VR Mode Updated
There are a couple changes to VR mode in Steam in the most recent client beta.Opt-in to the beta under Beta Participation in the Steam->Settings dialog to try them out. Just pick "Virtual Reality mode" from the View menu once you have the client and you will switch to VR mode. The -vr command line option has been removed entirely.

There has been some progress made on the OSX and Linux versions of VR mode, but they aren't working right yet, so there's no need to test those. OSX sort of works but rotates the wrong way in Pitch and Roll. Linux results in a black screen. We are still expecting to finish these relatively soon.

You can find the full update notes here.

Awesome, that makes things a little easier. Now if one could only use categories in big picture mode.

Are there any plans to add an API that supports the official Oculus latency tester (described in section D of the Oculus SDK 2.5)?

To clarify, I am not talking about the future presumably built-in latency tester, I am talking about the existing one.

And if there are no plans, would it be acceptable if fan(s) added support for it using the github SteamVR site and sent you the code? :P I'm aware of at least one game that I can't use the latency tester with because it uses the SteamVR API.

i like the new way hot to access SteamVR.
The problem is that it always crashes my Aero when I try it.

Edit:
I have 2 Images. One when it crashed with a custom theme, and one with the default aero-theme.
With custom theme[78.47.196.37]
Without custom theme [78.47.196.37]
Also my windows crashed when i started SteamVR, then closed it and tryed another VR-application.

EDIT2:
When I kill dwm.exe in the taskmanager, everything becomes back normal after a bit screen-flickering. WTF is SteamVR doing o.O

Oh, and i didnt post sys-info.

Well... this is kind of annoying. Once I click the button to activate VR mode, the game tries to pull resolution options from my primary display device... not good. So I pull up options and try changing to the closest resolution to the Oculus (1280x768) and suddenly everything but the HUD vanishes.
