SteamVR

SteamVR is an atrocious experience for an Oculus user
I don't know if it has to do with them trying to get people to switch to Vive or just compatibility issues but so far using SteamVR with my Oculus has proven to be a chore at best and an ongoing frustration at worst.

I can live with some minor tracking issues but so tired of running room setup time and time AND TIME AGAIN. The software recognizes the walls I indicate but sometimes just goes NOPE, we're going to move all borders JUST A LITTLE BIT and then turn them at an angle. Also, those trackers on your table? Yeah they'll be facing in slightly different direction than indicated by the setup that you JUST RAN A MINUTE AGO. WHY????

I've been looking forward to a saturday with VR not with walking around the room with a headset. Is this my issue only? Can it be fixed? Oculus software has no issues whatsoever, sets up fast and runs like a charm. This abomination however...

I just hope Oculus pull their heads out of their behinds and include proper regional pricing.

Didn't they just scrap room setup and the entire Chaperone things for the Rift as it provides its' own Guardian system? O.o Perhaps I should hook mine up and check...

yeah I heard about that but room setup still works for me.

and it should because when launching SteamVR games the headset doesn't display the borders I set in Oculus

I don't know. Vive works flawless and chaperone/room setup doesn't move even after months.
:D:
