This game is HARD
I'm still enjoying it very much, but this is no beer and pretzels game. I think it does have some balance issues regarding drop rates, enemy strength and the economics. You shouldn't have to use the export/import trick to replay the first part of the game, or save and load so much. Bring the flame. Having said that, any game that can hold my attention for 6hrs is definitely doing something right. Just don't be ashamed of using the wiki.

seems like you have good eye for games friend, you just but all my thoughts in your post, this game really is hard, but is also very good, i had a lot of troubles at the beggining, but with time and some new characters (not export/import) i ended up getting the hang of it, just don't give up on the game, it's really worth it
I'm fully agree with mogadeet. At first - all weapons/simpacks are very expensive. The second - items drop from killed enemies are very poor. And the last, as in Fallout I can't restore my HP while my hero resting :(
Concerning the drop from enemies - *allways* remember to repair their weaponry and armor before selling.
One repair kit costs 150. One damaged pistol costs 57. One repaired pistol costs ~1500.
Do the math.

I, myself, completed all available quests with just stealth, hacking, lockpicking and serraded knife.
Simply cutting the throat works just very few times, so I had to be so very creative about disposing enemies.
A group of 3 bandints on the west from southern entrace to Junkyard, for example.

Place an HE trap 10 tiles away, on a middle of hallway. Open the door and sneak in to cut the throat of pistol bandit. Drop some poisoned caltrops, sprint and run towards the mine. Near the mine I use net to hold the crossbow bandit, preventing him from activating the trap prematurely - the third bandit is still blocked by his bleeding to death fella. After entangling him, rush away and wait for them to activate the trap, which disposes the crossbow thug. At this moment I throw the flashbang to remaining bandit and re-stealth during the combat. Since he is out cold, he is not available to pursue me and combat ends, which means that he returns to his previous position. The only remaining tast is to catch up with him near the doorway and cut his throat there as well.

Yeah. This is not just some casual game, I invested a great deal of time to invent and actually do this.
Thats how a tactical RPG should look like.

You have to be very careful what you repair. The cost of the kits can be greater than the increase in sale price.

Always good to make a few saves before repairing and selling to see exact profit, as some guns do not sell for more than a repair kit cost.
Don't repair regular knives, repair guns and armor, !-observe-! the change in value when repairing items. Compare the values of what you have to what you pick up and upgrade when it is called for. Read the descriptions; check all the values and match them to your style of play.
I have played this game 10 or more times threw with 3 different characters and I only repair and sell back guns. They are usually the most profitable at low levels. Everything else just sell as is or save it to repair and sell later. Never repair a knife unless you plan to use it, no profit in repairing and selling them. Some items are just not worth repairing and selling, just sell them as is.

Mechanical repair kits are the cheapest so focus on items that you can use these on at low levels. Later on once you have made enough money to invest in other cloth or electronic repair kits you can make money off those repairing and selling those items as well. Ammo that you dont plan to use is a good money maker too so always loot it.

another thing that i simply love on this game is that ANYTHING can kill you, i have a lvl 15 char, and i'm doing a second run on the game, finished a quest, and thinking i was good, didn't pay atention to my surroundings and two bandits ambushed me .... ended up dead .... of course ... they had the luck to take 4 crit shots at me, but even so, it shows that you have to always pay atention .... and i love that
I would really like to see a difficulty setting option. Just saying.
