Episode 2 - Stuck on invisible object bug
the "lock of hair" that is supposed to fall out of the puzzle box in "Blood" won't appear. Nothing is there, and I have swept my cursor over every pixel of the mostly empty table. Worse, there is no way to back out.

I replayed the whole sequence twice, and got stuck at the same point. Is there a patch for this or something?

No other person has a similar problem?

Just encountered this. Did you ever find a resolution for the problem yourself, or is it still occurring?

No, I also sent a ticket and have gotten little response.

It appears that the trouble with a game series designed for and played by the console community... the community doesn't have experience solving its own problems. If this is too much of an edge-case for the devs to bother with, there must be soime mod/trainer/workaround. So far I've heard nothing.

I miss the console provided for just this purpose in games like Baldur's Gate.

Well damnit. I thought maybe it was because I was playing the game via in-home streaming, as character textures and some objects have appeared out of place and don't move correctly throughout the whole game. This appears to be an extension of such bug, wherein the textures for these objects are placed offscreen with no interaction possible. Attempting to find a workaround now. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks. I did try once directly on the host PC, but perhaps you'll have more luck.

You were streaming it also when the error occurred? I may try that just for the purpose of being thorough. System specs would be helpful too, if you don't mind sharing them. Between the two of us, we may be able to solve it on our own; I have 11 years experience with computers in my own business, so let's get at it. :)

Host System:
OS - Win7
i5 3570K (ivy bridge)
16 GB DDR3
AMD Radeon 5770 (1GB GDDR5)
500GB HDD
Gigabit Router

"Steam Box":
Ubuntu 13.04
AMD Dual Core 2.6ghz
8GB DDR3
Nvidia GTX 660 (2GB GDDR5)
128GB SSD
Control Xbox360
Gigabit Ethernet

I've done my share of QA, and to be fair I haven't been very thorough with this one. I can confirm that the host system had the problem on its own, without any streaming nonsense.

A reply from the devs follows (just found it buried in my email):

I apologize for the inconvenience. Below are a few possible solutions:

1) Ensure you have the latest drivers for both your graphics card, and your computer’s BIOS

2) Restart your system

3) Unplug your gamepad (and all other USB devices other than keyboard/mouse) and plug in headphones to the audio out jack.

4) Verify your cache if you purchased through Steam (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335)

5) Run the game as admin

6) Run the game in compatibility mode (We recommend Windows 98/ME)

7) Reinstall the game

8) Make sure that the Steam application is not set to a compatibility mode (right click on steam and click properties, then check compatibility, and make sure that it is not checked to play in a different OS)

If this does not resolve your issue, please read this Sticky on how to run our Support Tool, and follow the steps to run the tool, and reply to this email with the download link copied and pasted into this reply. You can find the Sticky here:

Figured it out. It's the controller. You have to play through without controller to get the textures to load in properly; this problem appears again in Episode 3, however.

Full controller support my eye; the controller API is what breaks the game. Valve, can we get an update to the product page on here to change it from "full" to "partial" controller support?

I have this issue too. It really sucks. I just want to kick back on my couch with my home streaming setup and the telltale games are perfect for a relaxing night and a big screen. Hope they fix this soon...

If TWD is any indication, they won't. Best chance is an episode 5 patch that is retroactive to prior episodes.
