But after verifying the cache file two or three times it finally seemed to click and started downloading the third episode. Don't know why it took so many tries, but yeah..
So I'd recommend that at least. If verifying the cache/resetting Steam several times doesn't work, well, don't know.. Maybe I just got lucky.
Also if it happens again I would recommend looking into deleting the .blob files in the steam directory.
They maintain the update status of games.
1) Shut down Steam
2) Delete the .blob files
3) Start steam (It will automatically create the .blob files)
4) Verify the game
Works for mostly all update related problems. No you did not get lucky.
(WARNING IF YOU HAVE 100+ GAME INSTALLED AT ONCE STEAM WILL HANG FOR A LONG TIME WHEN RECREATING THE .BLOB FILES BUT IT WILL IF YOU WAIT)
Thanks a bunch.. I don't know how your tips worked for that other guy but your first post got my Bioshock Infinite running when I'd been trying for weeks. 2K support even gave up on me! Told me 'nope it's not gonna work it's Steam's fault or your computer's fault' after about a dozen e-mails back and forth.
I'll definitely keep all this in mind for the future. Thanks again! :3
