Overpriced
Why is this game so expensive? All I see is rabbits fighting each other.

Keep in mind that this is still alpha, and there are lots of characters, weapons and levels, and if you still need more there is a massive modding community adding maps, items, and playable characters.

The modders don't get any money if I buy the game, so modding possibilities vs. lack of default content is a weird argumentation.

I liked the payment model "Minecraft" had: If you buy the game early on, you have to pay less, because you are supporting the development even if there is not much content at that moment.

I wanted to buy the game back then, I think, but it was too expensive, so I didn't.

I have also read the reviews on Steam: The "Early Access" has been available since almost one month and most people who wrote a review have played less than 10 hours. Not sure how I should feel about that.

this is known as a consumer rip-off. get used to it. there is more of it on steam every day and there will be more and more of this to come on steam until, you just no longer wish to ♥♥♥♥ with steam anymore. that day is coming, rest assured...

Most people have played the game before it entered steam, I bought it about 3 years ago and have about 200+ hours in it.

haha, I was not being a fanboy, this game is an alpha, that's why it's not finished, can't you read?

To each their own..

Overgrowth has been out since at least last year as an Alpha. The other game you are thinking of is Lugaru/Lugaru HD which Overgrowth is the successor to. I don't own the game, and this is my first time commenting on these forums about it. People do indeed have 100's of hours in Overgrowth as well as Lugaru. It has proven gameplay. You don't need to buy it or feel that people should support it. People are going to either way and they shouuld because it looks amazing. The developers have created quite the physics engine for combat. Almost unseen in any game new or old.

Edit* By almost unseen I mean never seen before in gaming.

no, you bought some other game that looks like this game.

this game is not a finished product and i really don't give a ♥♥♥♥ how many hours of your life you've thrown away on it, fanboy...

Yes, everyone that disagrees with you is a fanboy. If you don't like the game, then there is absolutely no conceivable way anyone else could ever like the game without being a fanboy.

Obviously your opinion of this game is more valid, as he has the game and enjoys it, thus making him a fanboy.

Sarcasm aside, I have this game, and love the hell out of it. It's nowhere near finished, but it's still really fun, and I'm happy to wait however long it takes until it's finished. (As long as the devs don't kick us in the balls and run off with our money)

you don't care how long you have to wait? those are clearly the words of a fool.
do you think you won't become old in your lifetime or would you like to see it finished before then? if you really don't care, i guess you don't have to answer...

You knew exactly what I meant. I clearly wouldn't wait "Until I grow old", and I highly doubt this game will take 50-80 years to create, as you seem to think it might. You've just picked out a simple error in what I've written, and focused on that. It doesn't invalidate anything else I've said.

Yes, this game has been in the making for about 2-3 years, but considering it's being made by a team of only 2 people, I'd gladly wait longer.

I'm not sure about that. I saw a pre-order thread on the forums and it was over 5 years old.

Surely that proves the fact that the two developers aren't going to "run off with the money" and actually keep making this game.
Sphynx cat killstreak Jan 14 @ 2:24am
No, the fact can only be proven by actual updates of the game, which seem to happen quite often, which is a good sign so far. In fact you pay for the finished game and are able to alpha-/beta-test the game until its final release, but the developers could jump from an alpha to a final game whenever they want. There is no contract or anything guaranteeing buyers to receive whatever features the developers might have mentioned/promised.
