More Expensive Than Original Scribblenauts
The original Scribblenauts released on PC last year at $29.99 and this is priced at $39.99. <ouch!>

In my opinion this should've been a dlc.

Unlimited is the first version brought to PC.

What really baffles me is the fact that you can buy the game at other online stores like greenman gaming for 25€ without any discounts while it costs 24€ on steam when you include the 25% discount for already owning Scribblenauts Unlimited.
Steam? Guys? What the hell are you doing? And why?
Does anyone know if the discount for owning Unlimited is time limited?
If not I'd wait and buy it on a sale. If it wears off I'm probably not going to buy it at all.

The publisher sets the price not Valve. It appears like these publishers are intentionally trying to gouge the Steam market due to Steam being so popular.

if you pre-ordered it it was only $25 through steam

But the game only works over steam. Even if you buy it at an other store it needs a steam account. It just makes no sense

It makes sense if you consider that a majority of the sales are probably made on Steam rather than other sites. To take advantage of that, the publisher set the price $10 higher on Steam. Just speculation. The $39.99 price is what is being charged for the 3DS, while the WiiU is priced at $60.

Well.. yes. But that would be a total d*ck move from the publisher and a reason not to buy it at all :p
I'll probably just wait for a sale...

Unmasked seems like an expansion/DLC, but it's priced 33% higher than Unlimited was at release. It feels shady.

Its a different take, it's a fan service to people that like comic books. Thus it costs more. Also you could have gotten it from greenmangaming for $19.99 for a whole week there.

It makes perfect since. Look at this way, there are millions of users who have a steam account and out of those millions i would around 70% don't know much about getting steam keys from other sites or don't trust those sites like they trust steam. Greenmangaming is a legit site but there are a lot of people who don't know of that or other sites. Just the other day I told someone to buy a steam game off GameFly and he called me stupid and said game fly is for renting.
