.NET Framework 4.0 and XNA Redistributable 4.0 are both required to run Unholy Heights, try a manual installation:

Yep, same problem as monkey, reinstalled the framework n redistributable multiple times. .net install script is trying to register the profile via local_machine instead of local user so im going to hazard a guess that everyone that doesnt have steam installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)\steam" is going to have the problem.

ok fixed, (the install script stuffed the .net framework)
you need to reset the owner permissions to 'administrator' for your "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly" directory.
-right click the assembly folder
-select properties
-go to the security tab
-click advanced
-go to the owner tab
-click edit
-select administrator and select apply
done, hope it helps

i'm having the same issue reinstalled the redist's, checked folder permissions like khaz. Still no dice. My default steam dir is on E: drive so i dare say that is the key problem

Neither of these solutions work for me. No matter what i do, it still crashes when i try to play it.

I too need help. My problem is: I select play, my profile pic down changes to green saying I'm playing it right now, but then changes back to blue without starting the application. If I press Play again while I'm "playing" it, it says the application is allready running but it isn't. I reinstalled NET Framework and tried it, after that I did it like Khaz said. Nothing works.

I solved the problem. If you open C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Unholy Heights\_CommonRedist\XNA\4.0
there will be a xnafx40_redist.msi data. Just execute it. If it still won't work you go to C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Unholy Heights\_CommonRedist\DotNet\4.0 Client Profile
and start the dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe and start this. After completing either of those steps you better restart your whole PC. It made mine work.

Tried all these, nothing helped. It keeps giving me the CLR20r3 error on start up.

Anybody with the same problem?
