How do I make monsters go get girl/boyfriends?

Title, my water monsters did it right off the bat, is it a random thing, or can I speed the process?

It's a random thing. You can give them a Love Balloon and the next opposite gender of that monster will become their lover. Love balloons get ridiculously expensive, though, they start out a 500g, then go up to 2000g with the first extension, then 5000g with the second.

for mating you can buy erotic cakes. but otherwise they'll do that themselves when they get in the mood.

Erotic Cakes are fairly inexpensive in the late game, they stay the same price of 1000g throughout and they guarantee a child the next time a couple has pillow talk, so it's helpful to speed things along.

different monsters have different level of horniness, cakes help the best imo.
