Need help. How do you get the Shaman to follow me to open the gate to the Witch

Hi, If anybody could help me it would be greatly appreciated. On the Forbidden Knowledge quest - Act I - My last objective is to find the witch. But the gate to find the witch won't open. How do you get the shaman to follow you to the gate?

If you haven't gotten to the shaman yet, head south from where you first woken up to find a chest containing a key to unlock the gate. By walking towards the gate, it'll open automatically given that your inventory contains the key to do so.

Thanks anyway. But I have already done that. Still doesn't work. Game file must be broken

I never needed someone for the closed doors,it was always "find the key"(or kill the monster who had it). If i remember well, the witch isnt behind a door.
