Do I recommend this game? Yes. Absolutely. Here's why:
-Intuitive leveling system; As you level up, you get points to spend on your trooper's skills, like better "draw speed" indoors, or the ability to make anyone using a silenced weapon hold their fire if they aren't in direct danger. Pretty rad.
-A kind of currency: You earn stars for completing levels, the better you do, the more stars you earn, and you spend those stars on weapons and equipment for your troopers.
-Can be played real-time, or with the "Pause" option, for those who want to take a tiny bit more time to think about their plan.
-PERMADEATH: This is something that a lot of games don't do anymore. If you are in a Campaign (and only in campaigns), and a trooper dies in a mission, you lose that trooper (and his individual level and skills) forever, and he's replaced with a green trooper.
-A pretty fun soundtrack
-A small, but adequate variety of missions: Elimination, Hostage Rescue, VIP Escort, Bomb Defusal, House Calls, Drug Busts, and Arrest Warrants. (Some missions may have multiple properties of each kind of mission, like a bomb defusal mission might have hostages and evidence to gather (drugs)).
Now here's why I WOULDN'T recommend it to some:
-For those with short attention spans (this guy..) this game can get pretty dull at times.
-Very frustrating level of difficulty later on. Enemies have strong body armor and spam grenades, which has the capacity to instantly kill your troopers or kill civilians, resulting in a more difficult (or instantly failed) mission.
-High learning curve: Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT expect to play as well as the player in the videos, even if you're a strategy game guru. This game punishes hasty mistakes to the max, and early newcomers will have a hard time adapting to the controls and gameplay.
There are plenty of other reasons for me to recommend this game or not to others, but these are my main ones, and the reason I love/hate this game at any given time.
