to see your serial in steam games, you just go to your steam games library, right click on the game, and select (left click) "View Serial Key".

Origin can stream straight to twitch from the in-game overlay but steam doesn't have a streaming feature

Origin won't even recognize my key.

Even though steam says on this page https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4341-SHXN-0411 it gives an origin key i also couldn't redeem the key in origin.

Also tried EA Support which where very friendly but also they couldn't get the key working.

Bad move from Valve on this one.

Why does it matter? It's what he wants to do, so let him be.

I have found a solution that worked for me.

Go to https://activate.ea.com/activategame.do [activate.ea.com]
Put your Steam Battlefield 2 CD key in, use the same email as your Origin account.
You have to createa new persona/alias/whatever as the screen ask's
Now start origin and Battlefield 2 should be added to your games.
