Battlefield 2 CD version
I have a CD version of Battlefield 2 (with no expansions) and I connected on the ońine version today but there wasn't anybody and not even a server. Like i saw here there is still a lot of people playing on the steam version and I wondered if the steam version was compatible with the cd version.

Steam version is latest version 1.5. So you have to patch yours to 1.5 and you'll get the expansions as free DLC in the patch :)

I still have a problem, I patched the game but when I enter an online game after like 40 second the game crashes and it returns to the game menu, saying that punkbuster kicked me out of the game because my game miss some files or something.. I triesd multipe different games and it does the same thing. What should I do? :S

sounds like the latest punkbuster file is missing:

simple to fix- you need to go to the punkbuster site, and download their punkbuster updater tool, run it, and that will update your punkbuster for you and test it.

Its a good plan to do that anyway. 50% of the time I have to do that when I install off the CD everty time, and also had to do it when I just bought it on steam too.

hope this helps

Dont forget to turn off the steam in-game overlay, punkbuster will kick you for that too.
