Battlefield 2

Battlefield 2

Windows 10
Update: One of the guys in the comments showed me a working solution.

As far as I know, BF2's completely incompatible with Windows 10. If anyone knows a solution for this, please, feel free to let me know. For now, if you own Windows 10, don't buy this game off of anywhere(yes, I know it's not on Steam, anymore).

How'd you get it working?

Battlefield 2 works just fine on my Windows 10 install as well.

I suggest making sure all of your PC drivers are updated to Windows 10 certified versions.

Windows 7/8 drivers are not 100% compatible with Windows 10, especially when it comes to games.

Does the game start up?
Does shutdown after blackscreen ( start up )

GIVE US SOME DETIALS.

Also where are you playing battlefield 2?
BF2HUB?
The game starts up to a black screen, then crashes to my desktop. I got the Steam version, with the BF2HUB client installed.

I believe I had that once many moons ago. If I remember correctly, it has to do with the game starting up with a strange resolution.

Look in your "Documents" folder for a "Battlefield 2" folder...

Open the "Battlefield 2" folder, then open the "Profiles" folder...

Check each folder for a "Video.con" file and open it in Notepad...

Scroll down to "VideoSettings.setResolution" and type in the resolution you intend to use.

Save and close the file...

You may need to do this a few times, depending on how many folders are under "Profiles", as each might contain a "Video.con" file.

Try to run BF2 again...

I'm on Win10 and randomly BF2 and/or BF2 AiX 2 crashes to desktop randomly while in game. i7-4790k, R9-290x, 16gigs ram ect.. Im on bf2 build v1.5 "steam" and at 1080p with all drivers updated and what not. Could this just be a no fix/random issue or is there something i'm missing? It doesnt happen alot but when it crashes its on random maps so theres no real rhyme or reason to it.
hi wath are you suposed to write in is it 1920x1080p or wath? i dont relly understand :(

I ran the .exe directly instead of launching through my Steam library and the game worked.
I also set the .exe to Windows 7 compatibility and always run as administrator before I tried this.

Hope this works for anyone else having trouble!

I know it is a common problem which is asked and solved at the {LINK REMOVED} forums - the community and mods there are very helpful.

with using a Tv it is best to set monitor as standard mode and choose the frame size as above it easy also it allows the computer OS to recognize the TV
