They're going to be paid DLC. Pretty lame if you ask me.

lol

Nothing like a well reasoned argument to change people's minds...

Not really sure why chapters 3 and 4 should be free? Were Episodes 1 & 2 of Half Life free?

These aren't companion DLCs for the game, they're the game itself, the next two chapters.

Anyone wanting them for free has rather missed the point.

When I bought the game last year it clearly stated "early access", which says to me there is more to come. The idea of "early access" is you buy the game before it's finished and your money funds the rest of the game's development costs.

So I expect not to pay for the rest of the game. Also, I won't now buy another "early access" game because of this.

No, early access gives you the full content but nowhere near in a finished condition. You won't get more 'free' content via early access. You're confusing it with a season pass.

It gives you alpha, and you play the game in said state till it reaches beta then RC.

You are not 'funding' the game, that's already been done to take it to the stage it's at, you are paying for the right to play it early and your reward for that is you get the final game update (not new content, just the final build) for free when the price goes up in its release condition.

Oh, maybe I misunderstood as you say then.

Chapters 1 and 2 were very short really, I did expect there to be more when I bought it. I did assume that as it was so short the next chapters (when available) would come with it (i.e. no more to pay). I know it's only a few quid but on principle I doubt I'll bother with the next chapters then.

They were indeed very short but I forgive Saibot this as I considered it the PC game of the year last year along with Tomb Raider. I enjoyed it that much, and as such have extremely low expectations for the next two chapters.

However as far as price goes most indie horror games are going for £10+ while I got this for £6.29. Decent price.

I also dislike the fact that the new chapters are goind to be a paid standalone. I bought the game on desura and we got promised that all five chapters will be included...with this kind of marketing I will only buiy this in a sale or bundle.

I also do not like that they are making the games standalone making you spend at full price thirty dollars to get the whole game. If they do decide to do that I'll wait for a sale. I got chapter one and two for 1.99 and was satisfied with the game for that price. However, they should really just keep it that you add onto the game or at least give the people who have supported the development by buying the game while its still being made the next two chapters free. But that's my opinion.

The first two chapters are ♥♥♥♥, so why would you even want to play more?
Phade102 Oct 19 @ 3:37am
They scammed us and are making us pay more. I paid 20$ for chapter 1 and 2 when they promised that the next chapters would be coming to us as free dlc. Now they've released chapter 3 seperately, charging 50% more for it as well.
Danny_G13 Oct 19 @ 1:15pm
Yeah, Saibot are a disgrace. I defended them for a year over the whole DLC scam, expecting Chapter Three to at least live up to the quality of the first two. Not only was it utter cr*p, but it got delayed at least twice.

And they just ignore any critical comments on it.

I've been critical of many indie developers and they always address my points, but Saibot are above that.
