Be careful - there's 2 ogre.cfg files on your machine - one is the default settings, and the other your current settings. Make sure you delete the right one.
You can find these files in this directory:
Unfortunately, the AppData folder may be hidden.
There's a few different ways[www.google.ca] you can get at it, in case that's not something you know how to do. Let me know if you run into trouble finding it.
It would look something like this:
EDIT: Worked like a charm, sweet, thank you!
To exit Steam I had to go to Big Picture mode and then exit Steam from that. Simply logging out of X and back in restored my desktop to 1080p. The game works great in Linux @ 1080p with my GTX 550 Ti.
Sad.
Interesting game though.
Vista Home Prem 64, XFX Radeon 6850.
I've searched around for that error, and got quite a few hits[www.google.co.th] on google for other games on steam which encountered this issue.
The general consensus is that your monitor is either unhappy with the refresh rate or resolution the game is trying to run in. Some others have suggested a driver problem. If your monitor is working fine with other games at 1080p, it's a bit of a mystery why it's not happy with Salvation Prophecy - and this is the first I've heard of this issue.
It's tough for me to narrow it down further than that. If it's really bugging you to play in a lower resolution, maybe some of those google hits might be worth looking into.
I will post here if I manage to solve it.
