Ultra settings on CnC3 but not Kanes Wrath?

Can anyone explain why I can run Command and Conquer 3 with ultra settings just fine; however, I cannot run Kan'es wrath with even high settings...

My PC specs: Lenovo; i7 quad core 4720, 1 TB HDD, 16 GB RAM, GTX 860M

some have had laggy performance due to default settings in config being too low even with ultra high settings set.
do the videos stutter?
if its this problem, to sort it...or at least check the config defaults

Find the Application Data folder for Kanes /wrath

in 7 its in..
.
C:\Users\(yourname)\AppData\Roaming\Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath\Profiles\(yourname)

Now find the following line in the Options.ini:

IdealStaticGameLOD = VeryLow

Change this to read:

IdealStaticGameLOD = UltraHigh

In the Roaming folder there is a folder labled Intel. Insde of that, there is another folder labled wireless; there is nothing in the wireless folder to manipulate.

in the users file there is also a default file with appdata and roaming in, this is not the folder u want.
u need the C:\Users\(yourname) it may be hidden goto organise in user file /folder and search options view tab and chek show hidden folders

Ok I found the file and updated it. However, the game still can't run appropriately on ultra settings. This is one of my favorite RTS games. I've bought the game multiple times, on multiple platforms, just to show my support for one of the greatest franchises. I hope we can figure this out.

ahh i was overconfident that that would sort the problem..is it really that bad..?is it laggy/choppy /stuttery from the start of the game? i run it fine at about just less than half settings and my pc is wooden.

u on win 7, 8.1? 32bit?

ive heard in previous post that the game does not support SLI and ya need to turn it off if ya use it.
if that dont work how low do the settings have to be for it to be smooth?

other than that only problem i know people have been having aside from getting online is a problem with resolutions not being read but if the game runs at all its probably not that but heres how to set resolution in case it helps anyone else or helps anyone else to help anyone else..
some had direct x errors on win 8 and 7due to high resolutions not being read, to sort it..

To do this in steam:
1. go to your LIBRARY of games
2. right-click on "Command and Conquer 3: Kanes Wrath
3. choose "Properties"
4. click the "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..." button
5. type in "-xres 3600 -yres 1920" without the quotes (use your current screen resolution shown in windows if not 3600x1920)

its just a process of elimination, strange that tibwars 3 runs fine.

Don't listen to these morons , I had the same exact problem , if You bothered to search you could have finded my topic. All You have to do is go to nVidia Control Panel , and set Global Preffered Graphics Processor to "high-powered nVidia card". Usually You find the application and set "run with" to high-powered nVidia card , but for some reason Steam doesn't launch the game from that cnc3kw.exe so You have to set it for global (kind of like for all applications).

My specs: Lenovo Y580 (LAPTOP) Win 8.1 64-Bit, nVidia GTX 660M 2GB V-RAM , i7 3630QM-2,4-3,4 GhZ, 6GB Ram.

Thank you both for your help. I used ALL of the methods suggested and it finally runs at a more appropriate pace! I'm not sure if it is a mixture of everything; or if it was the last method I tried, suggested by M.T. Sac, to manually change the resolution -xres 1920 -yres 1080 via STEAM. So thanks again!

I think nomads suggestion is probably the 1st thing to check, for anyone who has this problem in the future.

Ya must have done some digging to find this....was about to suggest this when i saw the previous post about resolution....at least it revives this guide and keeps it active...here is a player who seriously wants to play some Kanes Wrath..) glad it still helps.
