1. Who should I buy first?
You should try out the champions before you buy them (you receive trial champions, like League of Legends). But I would recommend Aurora, Bug, Martel or Crank first (There is a starter DLC pack on Steam, check it out if you want 3 champs for really cheap.) Bug is the best all-around ranged champion, the other ranged are good but very niche picks.
2. Which ship should I buy?
I would recommend buying a ship early, because the skybucket, starter ship, has 1 less health. The Bombshell or Beast (same stats) is the best all-around ship, followed by the Sparrow. Then I would recommend working towards getting 6 champions at least. You can only deploy 3 champions on the field, but you can have 6 champs max on your starting bench. The other ships are very unique and should only be used by experienced players, as the -1 or -2 health penalty for their bonuses aren't taken advantage of if you don't know exactly what you're doing.
3. Where are my trial champions?
When the game asks you to hire a champion, they are going to be one of your trial champions. Since the Aug2014 patch, if you own no champions, you get 3 trial champions (and it is on a trial rotation, like League of Legends). If you own 1 champion, you get 2 trial champions rotating, and if you own 2 or more champions, you get 1 trial champion rotating. Trial champions should have a banner on their portrait saying trial. When they leave, that means their trial has expired and you get another trial one (you get a 30% ae coin discount at the end of their trial, this is the best time to buy them)
