It's a rock-paper-scissors situation, which is bad for a game like this, I think, like, "I know you typically carry Backdoor (and that I'm probably going to be matched against you), so I'll bring a GOMP." It is not really rewarding for either side. If the victim actually defends their ship, the backdoor-carrier regrets bringing it (instead of something more versatile); and if they fail to defend adequately, they get crushed. Ditto GOMP, but worse, since you're even less likely to use it.It would be far better if players could set their loadout according to their personal play style (and the map, if known). I don't think Teleport and Exitus get in the way of this goal (and I don't really buy the "it's not interactive enough" thing).
Originally posted by God:Exitus. Shells are meant to shape your strategy, so that you modify how you play to get the most utility out of the shell (setting up a good B&S, getting the most HP out of comeback, etc). Exitus doesnt do that; you just hit it whenever you need to kill a champion, regardless of how you play the rest of your game. At least with GOMP you can bait the opponent to charge your ship. (I just hit level 80, and finished in AEMs last season)
