Disable splash screen??
Hey can I disable that ridiculous EA splash video, the one with the creepy kid wispering in my ear "CHALLENGE EVERYTHINGNGNNNGGG" omg what is that...

Also is it possible to run in borderless window (without a 3rd party program) or is a 3rd party program required for that?

- Go to Library view.
- Right click the game with your mouse.
- Properties > Launch options.

What I am using are:

-intro:off -CPUCount:1 -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080x32 -w

This means=Intro off, CPU Count 1, Custom resolution, Resolution, Windowed.

If you wish to use full screen, then leave the last one out.

If you do have windowed display with borders, then something is off and you need to change settings. I do not honestly remember which settings that would be, but I do not get borders with -w.

Thanks I'll try that

Heyy I have a problem with that window mode. If I use my native res there are no borders but the taskbar is stuck on top. If I hide the taskbar then like half the border for the window shows up and it looks screwy. So I figured I'll keep the window border, I tried to subtract 40 pixels (the taskbar height) from the vertical pixels to get 1160 pixels high (I have 16:10 monitor 1200 vertical pixels) but the game won't start like that. I tried:

-CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1160x32 -w

But it just won't start. Is there another setting I need that lets me put in any kind of res. Well I'll try some more...

Edit: Ok I'm just running with the -w option, then I can set the taskbar to autohide and it looks like normal full screen (except for a very small tiny sliver of the taskbar showing at the botton) so i'll just stick with this. But I wanted to ask about the CPU Count 1, does that make the game more stable or run smoother or whats the reason for it?

The CPU Count: 1 setting limits the game to a single core due to the fact that the game is over a decade old, meaning was programmed in an era when computers only had a single core processor. Limiting the game to use a single core on modern systems does help the game run more stable though.

Ohkay then the final startup line I use is: -intro:off -CPUCount:1 -w
With taskbar set to autohide this works pretty good. I could also use ProcessLasso to set the program to 1 CPU as well as other options like disable hyperthreading for the app or set it's priority, it's a handy program.

If you want the game to launch in full screen, simply change the -w to -f

You'll need to use a third party app to have SC4 run in borderless windowed mode.
