I haven't played this game since Summer 2014 but I distinctly remember a period of time about a month long (or at least several weeks), where I was playing this game pretty regularly everyday.
As far as sim games go this one is fun and light and functions moreso around speed and reflexes then one would expect going in. It's rewarding to string together dish after dish and most of the food and other upgrades feel worth (not so much some of the chore upgrades, however). Even little details like going through your email can be enjoyable at times. The way different food combinations on the menu interact can make changing the menu a fun little mini-game (although more often then not the best option is just to build a menu around a number of staple health foods like soups and salads).
I'm pretty sure most people will reach a point where they're quick reloading their saves as the game more or less demands higher and higher levels of persistent perfection to earn the best cash bonuses and a steady stream of unlockables once you get to the 3 star restaurant and above.
Around the 4 or 5 star restaurant unlock I reached a point where perfection felt impossible as I juggled increasingly difficult (but pricy) dish upgrades with the looming pressure of the impending lunch/dinner rush crushing down upon me.
Unless you're a huge fan of the gameplay, progression and eventually punishing challenge of time management and reflexes, you may not get more than a few months of play out of it. Still a 4/5.
