How easy to get multiplayer games with this? Changes since 1987? Prologue?
Im interested but really only if i can find some multiplayer games.

Used to play this 26 years ago (!) as a kid, has alot changed or basically the same game?

Hows the prologue game, worth getting? It is sort of like a tutorial, sorta like a starcraft campain a bit

Prologue is like a story mode, little mini quests/chalenges with each character with no other opponents from what I saw besides monsters. Each quest has rankings of 1 to 3, which you get depends on how fast you complete it. Not really sure what you get from ranking them all up though.

I haven't played much since I just played enough to get the cards and to move on to Digital fast so I can play normal games. It's ok but not sure I would really go back to it much.

I haven't played multi or played the board games so I can't answer that. :siegrune:

Online games are fairly common. And most of the people playing are friendly and nice. Skip prologue though. Not worth it compared to the full game and prologue is single player only afaik.
The digital edition is a faithful translation of the Revised 4th Edition (2007). To summarize, the 1st and 2nd editions (1983) were identical except the latter was in color. The 3rd edition (1995) completely changed the game board and rules. The Revised 4th edition combines the base game of the 2nd edition with the expansions of the 3rd, updated for balance. ("Revised" means the base game of the 4th edition underwent more balancing prior to release of any expansions.)

The 4th ed. main game is very similar to the 2nd. All the same board spaces, characters and cards are present, but updated for balance. Also, the addition of Fate allows you to spend a new type of currency to reroll dice. So apart from rules tweaks, Revised 4th (base game) is nearly a 1:1 conversion of 2nd ed regarding characters, cards, etc. In short, if you buy Revised 4th ed, you will be getting a modern version of the exact game you grew up with.

The expansions are a different story!

The 2nd edition had 6 expansions. Two - Expansion Set and Adventure - have not been reprinted under the same name, but some of the characters and cards have made their way forward through the various versions. The Timescape expansion has never been reimplemented at all.

The other three - Dungeon, City, and Dragon - were reworked into 3rd Ed. with two additional regions: the Dungeon of Doom (includes Dungeon and Highland), City of Adventure (includes City and Forest), and the Dragon itself. The 4th edition takes these 3rd ed. expansions (except no Forest yet!), reworks them further, and sells them individually (Dungeon, Highland, Dragon, City... Forest next?) These are the "big" 4th ed. expansions.

The Revised 4th ed. also has unique "small" xpansions, such as The Reaper. All Revised 4th ed. expansions include a combination of new and classic characters and components.

So, the complete collection of Revised 4th ed will have: an updated 2nd ed. main game attached to almost all 3rd ed. expansions and some unique "small" expansions.

Pertinax, Talisman has many expansions and part of building the system is ensuring the expansion code works properly. In addition it is useful to know how popular the expansions might be! I understand your trepidation but there is a good reason other than a purely commercial one! We have decided to issue 'Frostmarch' after 'The Reaper' as it has alternative endings that can speed the game up. Some think we are a bit crazy trying to make the game in the first place after a couple of companies failed at it :O) So far so good, and the Early Access folk have played a big role! IMHO expansions are what really make the game special... hope you'll join in!
