Is the season pass too expensive?
If you're playing this game for the multiplayer, wouldn't it be a bad idea to get the season pass, because I doubt you'll find many people who also have it that you'd enjoy playing it with?

What's refraining me from buying this game is that I like to fully enjoy games, and I'm afraid I have only one friend who would get the season pass, but no one else would even think about it.

I think $80 is excessive.

Buy the expansions as they're released.

If you do that you'll end up paying the same in the long run

This post includes a message from on of the devs that break down of the price of the season pass.

Hope this helps :)

season pass is outstanding value!.

50 pounds as opposed to eighty,no brainer.

I'll be purchasing it despite buying Reaper seperatley and it's still great value.

You only need one person to have it for everyone to play it. The other players do not get the extra characters and thats it. Talisman really needs the expansions, it gets better with each one and it most certainly is fun with all of them. I have them all and whilst we dont use all of them all of the time (apart from adventure cards/characters) they are good to have. If you were to buy a single expansion for the board game it would cost you £20-£40. So the digital versions pricing is perfectly acceptable and actually very good considering how many expansions there actually are for Talisman. Compare to other DLC as well....some stuff out there is not cheap for what it is.

is this true? when playing under traditional rules it seems unfair that one player can be the dark cultist and the other are 100% stuck with the dwarf and the minstrel

if i read previous news and other forum posts correctly including one from the developer i believe that if you play classic rules it unlocks every character whether they have the expansion or not, but if you play where you get to choose you can only choose the characters from the expansions you own.

The season pass is really cheap imho. You will get everything you need to make the game last for hours and hours.

It remains a boardgame, but it certainly ain't cheap to buy the 4th edition boxes in my country. The BASE game(no expansions) will amount to 50+ euro... That's what I payed to get all the expansions in this digital edition.

You won't see me complaining, and I have seen the devs being very active lately, if they keep this up it's a worthy investment, doesn't matter if you are a fan of the game or a newcomer.

Of course you can always opt to buy the expansions as they come out, everyone is free to choose what they buy.

Well if you're fine with a low playerbase it's your choice.

I appreciate the work done on this title and know it will be quality when it's released, but $60 is way too much for season pass digital release! $30-$40 for season pass is more reasonable, and please drop the price of base digital game to $5-$10 for the price to be in line with most of the games on Steam.

Wait for a sale, they are not going to lower the price suddenly because you do not want to pay full asking price.

Hi Rustea! What upcoming games are you going to get on Steam in 2014?

could the dev confirm/negate this? if it's true that only the player with reaper get to play as the reaper character could we at least have an option to toggle this on/off so that all player draw from the same pool of characters?

If you play classic rules (like the guy in the post you quoted said) then everyone is on equal ground. If we play with out the classic rules you can only select ones you own. I think that's fair, everyone plays on classic rules anyway.

When we first introduced the Reaper pack, players who hadn't bought the pack could possibly draw a Reaper character in a classic rules game. This was actually a bug which we didn't want to fix at first because it was quite a nice introduction to the characters for everyone. The intention is that you cannot play as characters you haven't bought, and this has now been fixed.

So, to confirm - you will only be able to play as characters you have in your collection, no matter which mode you are playing.
