SPell Bug?

I am playing a game as prophetess, and trying to cast mesmirism over and over every turn, but its bugging. it lets me que it and then nothing. it never initiates or resolves. Very frustrating. It says use before movement and that is what I am doing. Every turn. Cant get rid of it.

Have you clicked on which character you want to steal the follower from?

There has to be a character with a follower to take. In Talisman you can't cast a spell just to throw it away. If you can't cast it on a valid target, it clutters up your hand. Maybe that's the issue?

If no one has a follower, it'll never trigger.

It's a little silly because if I had access to that ability in real life, I'd cast it on a Tree or something to get rid of it.

Easier time getting apples if the tree just hands 'em to you...

What items are/were in your inventory?

Do you know if you were holding the amulet card at the time?
As the amulet stops spells effecting you but also stops you from using spells
I only asked because this is a common mistake for new players to make

No, i only had the armour and sword. I guess its one time thing, I finished that game without casting that spell. I've played again since and evrything seems fine. ill post again if I have any more troubles with this.
