Macintosh Port Testing
Hey folks,
So, there exists a Mac port of InFlux, but I can't be sure how well it works because I have limited Macs to test on (and none of them gaming-grade). For instance, all the Macs I have access to have Nvidia cards, so for all I know it just doesn't work on ATI.

If you've got a reasonably powerful Macintosh and would like to test the game, email me at joewa@impromptugames.com and say so, and I can send you a code. Probably put the word Macintosh in the subject line so I can identify you easily.

Please only do this if you're up for spending a significant amount of time playing the game and letting me know whether and how it's broken. Ideally you will have played the PC version as well so we're able to tell what's Mac-specific and what's not.

Also: the system requirements for InFlux are already kind of high, and UDK games do not run as well under OSX, so your Macbook Air is probably out.

I have Mac connections, but I think they may have Intel Graphics if that would be helpful.

Also, you should think about SteamOS / Linux support - Linux news sites with spam your game all over the internet which makes it a powerful marketing tool.

I often buy guys I normally wouldn't because of their Linux support so I have stuff to play while im on Linux.

I would buy a Linux version if this game too. Seems like there's been some progress in porting UE3 to Linux lately as well.

Would like to consider Linux support, but we roll with UE3 which currently has no Linux compatibiltiy at all and we're not bad enough dudes to implement that ourselves. I agree that that would be the best.

Good news @Developer Unreal Engine 3 is being ported to Linux so you can port the game :)

Alas, it can't be done - UDK has no linux support and only broken Mac support.

There are a lot of UE3 linux ported games... Bioshock Infinite, Painkiller, Chivalry...

UDK is the publically available version of UE3, and doesn't give you source code access.

If you wanted to do a sequel on UE4 I would be interested in it, and with Steam Machines debutting November 2015 it's a unique opportunity to corner a genre in a emerging market, anyways .02 - I love marble games.

Unfortunately, pretty much not. UDK's Mac support turned out not to be strong enough at the time we were working on it and probably still isn't. If I do a port of InFlux to UE4 at some point - which is possible - it'll have Mac and Linux support, since that's easy over on UE4.

If I may suggest, releasing the current test port on Steam as a public beta, that way people can still play and enjoy the game? The existing build worked fine for me in my test.
