this game looks...strangely familiar.
i can vaguely remember playing something on the PC when i was a kid, it was a game where you controll an orb thing by clicking the ball and you sort of "throw" the orb, it was set in a big (or maybe not so big, and i just remembered it was big because of child brain) world/island, i'm not clear on the objectives (hell, i dont think theres any) but i think you can collect some shiny things and...thats just it i guess. explore, shiny things, orb throwing.
remember it yet?

PS: it was one of those games, crappy but not too crappy, 3D game, physics are ok, graphics are meh.

Spectraball had one big issue that set it down from others.. you had a time limit. You didn't have time to think. It made the game not fun for me and the puzzles too simple and ended up being a twitch reflex game.

This looks a bit better, a bit more puzzly and a lot less grindy.

Actually this game remembers me onto some complete different things: Halo, UT2004, Portal and Prey... Halo for those pillars of light in the open environment, UT2004 for those completely idyllic open areas waiting to be crushed by a goliath ;), Portal... I don't know why, Prey because of that rotating puzzle where the "chamber rotates" or more the direction of gravity changes.
And that ball would be 343 guilty spark :)

Reminds me of the mines that would chase you in Half-Life (2?)

Oh dude, I think I know what game you mean, though I can't remember the name. Do you remember there being different skins for the orb, or maybe collecting stars, possibly on top of trees? I remember playing a game just like what you described.

I immediately thought of Spindizzy resp. Spindizzy Worlds... back on the Amstrad CPC however. ;)

it's called taking a game design assignemnet and adding some gimmick 3d effects and a 'story'

for shame this is being sold.

I never really played Influx, but I'd it is Spectraball with actual effort and interest put in it. And I have a feeling I wouldn't be very wrong here.
