Links to Fate info and resources
With Wildtangent closing down their community forum early next year, I thought it prudent to let folks know some of the places they can go to get more info about this game, especially when it comes to modding it.

These sites are unofficial, but they are run by folks who have been involved with the Fate community since the game came out way back in 2005, so the odds are pretty good that if there's something you want to know about Fate, these are the places to go to, and folks to ask.

Extra thanks to Spock and Heron for helping keep the fate community alive.

Don't know why more people aren't looking at this, modding was a fantastic part of Fate for me. And it's so damn easy!

I suspect it's because arpg's never were that popular a genre, and while Torchlight and Torchlight II (as well as Path of Exile) have helped increase the genre's popularity, it's still pretty niche, mostly due to the game style being more about mechanics and progression, rather than impressive storytelling or truly immersive escapism.

Diablo III might have increased the ranks a bit, but it did the genre no favors, either. Basically, the games aren't really 'sexy', and the fact that they involve a rather steep learning curve to master (in most cases) tends to push people away, too. They're very much games for metagamers. Heck, Diablo III tried to make the forumula casual-friendly, and even casual gamers got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at them for making it too easy.

I can't say anything about the other sites, because I don't know how they were set up or are operated. I can talk about the Wildtangent Fansite though, since I'm in the process of copying forum topics over to it from the Wildtangent forums.

We are trying to set up a secure, safe site for game enthusiasts to visit and share knowledge. Most of the forum is comprised of private forums, visible only to the members. Right now, most of the content is visible to the public (FATE game topics, game reviews etc.) but you must register to post.

Since we are hoping to maintain a G-Rated forum and because we expect many users to be under age, we are rather selective who we allow access. The registration process starts out rather tame for a phpBB forum but then differs markedly at the end. It isn't hard but it is longer than a normal registration.

If you think you might want to get involved in Modding the game of FATE, you are welcome to join us and use what is already available or participate in the creation of new Mods. All except Spammers and Scammers are welcome as long as they behave responsibly. ;)

Hope to see a few of you over there!

For anyone interested, the CMS (Content Management System) powered by Drupal is now up and running. Right now it's kind of rudimentary but I'm still playing at tweaking it to make it easier for the Modders to store their Mods and other information on it.

You don't need to join to read about Mods or to download them but you will need to join our forum if you want to join the CMS, it's for members only. Once a member, you can make comments and help to improve not only the Mods but the site as well.

We don't seem to have that many Modders signed up yet, so the only Mod on the CMS right now is a simple character I created years ago for testing Fate games. I'm hoping many of the modders find their way over to us before the WT forums close. If anyone here knows any Fate Modders, please pass on the Fansite links to them. There are three different sites trying to get all the important topics and posts copied over from the WT forum but we also need members to provide new content to keep going.

If we don't gt help from the gaming community, we could very well die.

It's just too funny that people keeps saying D3 was too easy yet most of the complains is how hard inferno is. D3 increase ranks a bit? Even haters keeps an eye on D3 on daily basis.
