Application Error - This game will now exit

I have FATE, FATE The Traitor Soul, and FATE Undiscovered Realms. All three give me a popup when trying to stert, Application Error - This game will now exit.

Any ideas?

Running Windows 7, 64 bit.

Nope, tons of people including me are having the same problem. I have windows 10, 64 bit.

I get "Fate has stopped working". I ran it fine a little while back. No idea why it does this now.

I have the same issue. Windows 10 64-bit as well. AMD card though.

For nvidia, go to your Nvidia control panel and click on "select a program to customiz" and add fate. Apply the settings if the option comes up and then close the control panel. The game should open up at that point.

it might be the same fix for windows 10 @hos. I might be wrong though. Maybe ask steam support or even wild tangent support if you cant do it the way i posted

so i tried adding that extra file and the game will run BUT it does the compression "that occurs one time only" every time you open the client

I've added it on my NVIDIA Control Panel and clicked apply, then run the game. I still get the same message. Do I need to change any of the settings or is this all you did to fix yours?

then save the document, name it "config.dat" and try launching the game. This has worked for me and tons of other people, lemme know if it works for you guys.

Afraid not. (ProgramData was hidden just in case others want to give this a try)
