I don't know exactly what causes the glitch you speak of. Nor how to fix it. However I had the same problem when I played the standalone version of Settle and Carlisle. The only sugestion I can make is that you get a full version of Trainz and then add S&C to it.

I have Trainz Simulator 2009, do you know how do I copy the standalone route onto Trainz 2009?

If you go to the community hub page for S&C there is a tab at the top of page that says guides. I have posted a guide on this page detailing the process your looking for. If you find other issues or have other questions let me know. I want to help as many people with this problem as I possibly can.
Thanks for the guide! But there is no general tab in the full games options.

Were you still able to find the serial number page in the game options?

Yes but you can't make changes to the CD key in the options of the full game (Trainz Simulator 2009)

You are absolutely sure that there is no slot nearby that will allow you to type in a code?
Not at all. It should work for Trainz Simulator 2009 because it says you can add a copy to the Settle and Carlisle to Trainz Simulator 2009.

I don't own a copy of Trainz 2009, so I don't know how much more I can help you. If I can make a suggestion, try looking through the game's options and properties. That is actually how I figured it out on trainz 12. Or try looking through the trainz forums, I saw and even read a few comments on there talking about different methods (most of which were directed at earlier trainz games I belive). Don't give up!

I got a general tab in the standalone game and it has it's own CD key (Skipton & Carlisle add on) and theres a bar where you add the CD key in and when you type it in, you click add and it shows up at the bottom of the standalone CD key. I typed my full game in and it says "invald"

It did that to me once. But only because the number wasn't entered on my Auran account. Have you added both games to your serial number page?
Yes I got it in now but it still got no general tab but it got a Planet Auran login details and theres a rectangle button saying "Join Planet Auran" and the button took me to the TrainzOnline Wiki

Well... if you can't enter the serial key than I don't know what else to do. I didn't program the game.
